I'm not clear why anyone would want to sound American, but probably the best advice is to pretend that you swallowed a guitar.

ABOUT THIS VIDEO

Who is watching 2026 / 2 February

— @maxamedabuukar885

In this video, I talk about fast speech and how to sound more like a native English speaker.

Remember, fast speech isn't really about speaking "quickly"... but it may sound very quick to you since you are a non-native English speaker.

Hi. Could you please explain how to pronounce “can” and “can’t”? Because it’s too complicated to make a different sound.

— @Adamex-zh1xk

Fast speech simply refers to the way native English speakers change and eliminate sounds as they speak normal, everyday English.

If you are trying to sound more like a native speaker with an American English accent, I give lots of examples in this video to make you aware of what to listen for.

I love It

— @AlessandroAlves-q9q

Finally, learning pronunciation by reading how words are spelled is VERY confusing because English is not a phonetic language. So, the best way to learn pronunciation is to listen carefully and imitate what you hear.

NOTE: Fast speech and connected speech are the same thing

amazing🎉🎉🎉

— @indraofficial8615

Also, here is the list of phrases I discuss in the video:

-What are you doing later?

💗

— @wlfvikas

-Where is he at?

-Did you give it to him?

Is fast speech like " connected speech?"

— @nourahtatamo3504

-How did it go?

-What do you mean?

Oh my gosh!!! . Thanks a lot for your English lesson! Keep up the good work.

— @JoelMasamba-x8d

-Can I go?

-How is it going?

I can't see the link to download " 79 words you still say wrong."

— @teep3314

-Would you give it to me.

-I have to go to the store

Could you please make more videos like this
Maybe shadowing or pronunciation practice and accent
Please please

— @RishmaOmid

-Where did you get them?

-I don't know how to do it.

The video X2 is delightful 😊

Stephanie is an excellent teacher. She has perfect diction. In fact, this type of reduction occurs in all languages. In Brazil, it's more difficult because there are so many accents.

I dislike this video because it suggests that having a native pronunciation is relevant in order to be understandable, but that's way far from the truth, everyone has a proper pronunciation, and no one must feel discouraging for not talking like an "American" citizen.

Hey Stefani.
Greetings from 🇨🇴 Colombia.
I found your Chanel 5 days ago and I can't stop to see your videos, because I completely happy that I can understand almost the 85% of the things that you say or explain to us.
I've been studying English for 8 months and I've seen advance in my English but I'd been feeling that I was stuck but you're videos have been ver useful to me.

P.D. Me gusta mucho tu acento Argentino también, te deseo properidad para ti y para los tuyos.
