They should have used a less attractive actress than Farrah Fawcett to make the story more believable.

Thank you for posting this! I was a junior on HS DURING his production . I truly enjoy these Lifetime shows.
I’ve watched his, Farrah and Sam in which they married in -1983 or earlier but were There has been a great pairing for films and plants.
Long may they have a happy ❤️🙏🏻 year!!!

Is hard to be married to a cheating narcissist. The other woman should have stayed away.

The real lady Joan Robinson Hill was very beautiful she was as pretty as Farrah if not prettier. It’s a shame that beautiful lady met with such a tragic end. 😢😢😢

Farrah looks so beautiful and Sam Elliot looks nothing like himself without his mustache.

At the very end, are they hinting that the man that murdered John Hill covered his face completely with tape because John Hill escaped to Mexico as planned with his girlfriend?

@Cat-f-05

Did John Hill really murder his second wife’s original BF Jack?

I used to think that Sam Elliott was handsome. His mouth reminds me of a parrot. I’m glad I didn’t see this first. This movie portrays him as a “predator” of women.

Good movie,it takes it a little while to get going good though

I know this is an old movie but I have never seen Sam Elliott play such an evil dude before it's different to see him play such a part if she can't figure out that she's in danger then I don't know how to help somebody like her

Katherine Ross could have played Jackie Kennedy to a T.

Critics Reviews:
"Rotten score. Death in Texas has too many far-fetched scenarios to be taken seriously. Unfortunately, this dreadful crime drama takes itself way too seriously. There's a lot of corny acting from experienced actors who embarrass themselves by being in this movie."
True that!

Trivia: Andy Griffith earned the ONLY Emmy nomination of his entire career for his role here.

OMG, how many more times do they tell each other "I love you" ?! 🥴😁

@Erin97
@

And they never found out if he poisoned her?

@Erin97
@

They should have used another actress than Farah Fawcett. Hard to believe he would cheat on her.

Sam looked so much better without his mustache

Any woman going with a married man is a traitor to her gender

Sam Elliott had no facial hair until the mid 80s

He did a great job! One of my favorite true crime docudramas, along with Small Sacrifices and the 1996 biopic The Temptations.

I've always wished that forensics weren't very sophisticated back in that era. Years after Joan's death, Sunny Von Bulow suffered a similar fate. Forensics were better, but there were still many concerns.

Should say playing

I love that Katherine Ross is losing this role with Sam Elliott. I think theyve been married about 50 years and are never in the tabloids. I wasn't a Farrah fan, but she did play a few good parts, particularly Diane Downs, but she looked nothing like her.

I just didn't understand these people she's rich and he's a jerk and doesn't love her so why try to hold on move on be single and be happy

@Tina-uj1dj

I love all the cast of this but what a tragic story. Im only halfway through it and Im completely depressed.

Dang Sam Eliot so good looking as a preppy guy or rugged he always looks good

@Tina-uj1dj

Sam Elliot not a nice character here. Joan deserved better and Farrah played her so well. Was a sad story for Joans family.

This is why you don't FORCE someone who obviously does not want you, to stay in a miserable marriage. Autopsies indicated Joan suffered a "massive infection" –cause of death– meningitis & sepsis. Embalming prevented Exact cause from being determined. It was said that John's delay contributed to her death. The mistress Ann Kurth is portrayed as a classy-looking woman when in Real life she was a "provocatively dressed, heavily made-up woman" accurately described in a book about the Murder; which upset her. They got married right after Joan's death, but John divorced her less than a year after he was indicted for Murder. She claimed John tried to kill her, and that he poisoned Joan with bacteria-laced pastries. She also claimed he may have Faked his death. Guess it wasn't worth being the Mistress after all.

Folks Indicted in the Shooting of John Hill:

- Bobby Vandiver skipped trial and was shot & killed after he pulled a gun on a Police officer.

- Lilla Paulus died of breast cancer at the Gatesville Prison in 1986 after 11yrs.

- Marcia McKittrick the Getaway driver was sentenced 10-years and paroled after serving 5yrs.

These types of movies make me furious. The fact she was with him while he was still married, then she stayed with him knowing he killed his ex but he also tried to kill her. Darn…I want to slap her!

Sam Elliott The Cheater husband role play interesting Plastic Cosmetic Surgeon $$$ Not complete 😅Party is over Let the murder proceed A restlessness in a man for the want of another woman is dangerous Especially when 💰 🤑 & Statis is involved 😳 Oh such a web of lies deceit deception affairs of human traits The very essence of external NOISE blah The outcome is no good 🙄
