1. holy shit i did not expect this video to blow up. thank you guys so much for all the support and for all the kind words AND subscribers??? you guys are insane and it means the world thank you!!!
2. reading thru various hate comments really has me doubling over in laughter, mostly because they’re not even directed towards me - i am unfortunately not a member of fall out boy and therefore did not make this song or it’s lyrics. but seeing how polarising it is has definitely been interesting!
3. balloon boy is not a reference to fnaf as much as you’d all like it to be
4. no this video isn’t ai generated - i made this on the train to and from uni class lol. think it would’ve been easier using ai but i’m not rly interested in using that stuff
5. serena and venus are blurred because ive been getting some stupid copyright notices on that part. i don’t know how to unblur im so sorry guys!!! if anyone knows how please lmk but it was not done in ill faith

The thing...um...that pisses me off the most, is that, if i devoted an entire week to it, I could encapsulate 1985 to now a hell of a lot better than this, still keep like three lines, and have it line up chronologically. That's what pisses me off...kisses of the past with a focus on the last 10-15 years. 1985 (the cutoff of the Billy Joel song) until 9/11 is pretty much absent from this with the few big events from then. Where are the shuttle disasters? Waco? Gimme a week and some stimulants (legal or not), and, as someone born in 1985 who's father was born in 1949 (the beginning of the original song), i could so do this better.

We went through a long period where MTV wasn't playing music and there was no Youtube. First they did reality shows, Real world, etc. Then teen moms. Only rap crap that was always a random black block party.

To me it was a slow and very painful death well over a decade. Youtube is here now and has given us light again to music, but MTV needs to be dead and stay dead, forever. MTV earned it's death and it was no thanks to Youtube.
