Every Way to Cook an Egg (59 Methods) | Bon Appétit

Video Overview & Insights

Join Basically editor Amiel Stanek as he attempts to cook an egg in almost every way possible. Which method is the best? Can there be a best method? What does 'best' even mean? Who says what's best? Not us. They're all eggcelent (besides the ones that aren't).

I'm totally impressed by the exploded hot coals cooked egg. I'd upvote this video seventeen times. Maybe eighteen.

— @chasg5648

anyone who’s watching this 7 years on: waffle irons make great omelettes! mix up the ingredients you want, make sure the waffle iron is super well greased and you don’t overfill it, and let it cook until it stops steaming. it gets well-cooked, the edges can get crispy, and it’s way easier (and i think faster) than doing it in a pan. my family does it a lot when we have guests!

I miss these videos. A few years ago I went through a phase where I lived in a very small unit and barely had any space to store my food, so I had to get creative with what I had and these single-ingredient recipes helped me go through it.

Apartment egg...with a 5 cup Mr Coffee machine, 3 to 4 eggs carefully placed in the carafe, fill with water after to the top...pour the water into the machine and run it twice. Yolks will be soft but not runny. A convenience.
