I've seen a lot of people in history pretend to be racially put down then they actually were, but jackie robinson is someone who had legitimately dealt with an insane amount of racism and still came out on top and probably did one of the biggest moves to stop racism in history. Hes an inspirational man.

How does the split of a DH for AL and not for NL exist today, when MLB adopted the universal DH in 2022 meaning NL has also had DH since then?

Jackie Robinson receiving 'hostility' is highly exaggerated. He had a small amount of ignorant people, but most respected him, and Dodgers fans loved him. Larry Doby talking about his integration shows this...anyway, Integration period before the pitching friendly era was the best era IMO. Lots of balls in play, less Ks and BBs with a good number of HRs and doubles. The 70s and 80s were good but you could see the cracks starting to show in baseball. Nowadays it is just 'more rules to make the game faster' which actually makes games longer

Too bad this voiced by AI. Also you make it sound like baseball was the only thing that had racism in the time period. It was everyone not just in the sport

Iโ€™m personally a very dead ball kind of guy, especially while playing the game. Getting big hits without power, and stealing a base every here and there can be very effective and when done right, can generate a very high winning percentage.

Nothing happened in baseball between Ruth and Robinson?
If breaking the race barrier increased the talent pool, why did expansion 10 years later dilute it despite a 35% talent expansion and only a 15% team expansion?

It wasnt just cosches goinf by gut. It was situstional analysis, it sas a more in depth look at something as a situation uniw to itself where as the sanermetrics look sr numbers and situations as being able to happned again the exact same way and nothing is truly the same. No gsme has wver been the exaxt same things with exact same outcomes. While numbers help with prepararion and adding info to decisions, there is a baseball situations intelligence that is really only inderstood by guys like la russa lou pinella, jim leyland. I hope they bring back the chess side of baseball, putting runners in morion, knowing every option available in every situation, its become robotic and systematic.

Why have American blacks deserted baseball? I've been saying for years it's largely for 2 reasons, very connected.
First, with college sports getting hugely profitable, there were more and more scholarships over football and basketball.
Secondly, those scolarships did not go to baseball, not a big college money maker. Ergo MLB signees not MLB ready had to go to very small cities mostly rural and not all very tolerant.
So you can have to grow up early and go someplace you're not entirely antef, or, if you are good, extend your adolescence in an at least less angry environment.
IMHO, bingo.
As for the move against shifts most lefties arw encouraged to constantly pull as hits there make runner advancing more likely.
If you ran to the left instead of the right after you hit, it would be the other way around.
But lefty averages got very low. So they took the easy way out.
