The staging, the venue itself is very advanced for its time. The songs and the way each country put a lot of effort into delivering the grates performance possible to entertain people and present itself – it just all looks marvellous many years later. Also, the historical context of the show, where countries are still friendly and a good amount of them didn't exist Eurovision yet – it's like a blueprint for how each Eurovision needs to be.
Undoubtedly, the best year in Eurovision history.

Вот говорят - старые приёмы на Евровидении не работают, ага, дада - Билан в 2008 выиграл со скрипкой, выкрутасами на льду - в 2009 Рыбак выиграл - в руках скрипка и основная деталь всей песни, с ним акробаты которые выполняют разные выкрутасы на сцене помимо танца - всё как было у Билана). О чём это говорит ?) не в повторках дело, а в песне и исполнителе )

From a Brazilian, Yohanna could win mostly of Eurovision contests in the 21st century, Aysel and Arash could win some too, even Hadise could win a couple of contests on this century, but they never could win against Alexander Rybak despite their great performances on the stage.

The letter of the song, the melody, and the performance of everyone on that stage was perfect and caught everyone off guard.

Rybak and Regins two of my favourite this year.
