Because of our food portion sizes, Americans who don't want expanded waist sizes need to practice portion control. IF we go out for a great food experience, the next day the smart people try to eat less. Those that don't do this will get fat pretty fast. But, for those just visiting our country, it is fun to watch their reactions to both the food portion size, AND flavors from around the world.

I tried Raising Canes first time last year when we were on vacation in Orlando, it was pretty good, we don't have it in Miami

Totally agree with the Whataburger over In and Out. I remember when they opened an In And Out in Frisco and people were wrapped around waiting in line-our son drove by waving a bag of Whataburger laughing at them. I also think ChikFilA is better than Canes. Canes was originally called Laynes outside of College Station. There's a Laynes on 121 in The Colony. Portillo's has good burgers, but they are better known for Chicago style hotdogs.

I always had grits with butter salt and pepper but your way sounds better! And yes Buc-ee’s is a treasure and an institution I have 3 near me. 2 are small in Pearland. But they make their own sugar free mints that are better than altoids. I go about once every 2 weeks to stock up

The best food in America they dead and gone. Them old grandmama's in the south had the best food. Theres still reminisce from a few of the grandchildren learning from grandmama. But I aint had no food better than either of my grandmothers.
