Eating at Jungsik NYC. One of the BEST Korean Restaurants in the World. 3 Michelin Stars
Video Overview & Insights
I eat at and review Jungsik in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City. Jungsik is a fine dining restaurant which has 3 Michelin Stars. It’s considered to be one of the best Korean restaurants in the world. Chef Jungsik Yim started the restaurant and serves what he considers “New Korean” cuisine. I have and review Jungsik’s $325 tasting menu.
How can the best Korean restaurant in the world as they say not be in Korea? I’m sure in Korea you can get the same or probably better at some side street vendor.

OCTOPUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
About Me: I live in NYC and I’m about food, travel and work.
Wow what a visual experience. The wines on that list are first rate if you have a massive wallet. What an exceptional place. Yet another great review James. Obviously I'm a bit behind on your reviews but will catch up.

Why not try filipino food?
@ne89leoJust got back from Jungsik and honestly perfection across the board. The food, the service, the atmosphere, all flawless. The dessert after? Chef’s kiss. Oh and the bathrooms were spotless 10/10, no notes. Only things I’d nitpick: the restaurant ran a little cold temperature-wise, the water wasn’t great (which sounds minor but at $325 a head, even the water should slap), and the ice cubes were decent but could’ve been a touch better. Other than that? Absolutely worth every penny. One of the best dining experiences of my life. 🔥
@anhbui726How is it you don’t weigh 300lbs?
@ThomasRShiahYour pure love and passion for food really resonates, I feel the same about food so it’s really nice to see someone like yourself enjoy food at places I would rarely go to, your commentary is most appreciated
@slamdunkd12345experiences differ based on the season.. only having experienced Jungsik in Seoul, on my experience neither over nor under-whelming. If in Korea, I recommend to try out Soul, one star michellin. At least for me, it was a pleasant surprise.
@sanghchungI hate the over exaggerated descriptions
@gbaca07Dont be so discriptive. Keep it minimum.
@gbaca07$325 to eat dog?
@itsthehandleI wish they had put an H in front of that S when coming up with the name.
@JohnKim-u2pHow long did the meal take?
@AS-kf1ol$498? that's my monthly food budget!!!!!
@calebkang5544The best Korean restaurant should be in Korea
@povertyspec9651Much respect, James. Amidst the myriad youtube channels that review restaurants, yours stands out - pure, sincere, no unnecessary BS. Very approachable yet high quality content. Thank you.
@youngkim9464rerember lol
@luigi_linguiniAny halmeoni or eomeoni will say "aigoo" after watching this video. But it looked tasty though.
@frankm7707Led me to think
@JacquesGimson-o6lI would say this is a Korean inspired American restaurant. Real Korean food does not look like this. 😅😅😅
@bbitsme7971So…which dish was Korean dish…? I am Korean and I am super confused right now.
@OOKC206Go to Cesar. Its gonna blow your mind.
@mathildechasle8485I'll have to settle for the large container of kimchi at Costco for $8.95
@RealFuddNeed to get you to have dinner with Alexander the Guest.
@GalaxySaved749Really love the jacket you were in this video. Any chance I can get the info for it?
@joshayala9022Thank you for sharing the experience
@ndychung007I feel like I'd need a Big Mac after those portions LOL
@knockitofffI recommend Tosochon and. you will experience fine Korean dining under $20.
@jhslee89ifyGreat video! Hope we can serve you at Noksu soon~
@bobbykwakHopefully you are Shin ramen for two weeks to compensate
@juniorkangSurely Jungsik is a excellent restaurant with a long good reputation, and I've known it for quite sometime.
However, as a Korean I would not say it is Korean cuisine. His food is just a kind of fusion western fine dining motivated from K-cuisine.
9:18 think those were salmon roe rather than caviar
NVM, TIL caviar was a more general term
What is "Tock" mean on the bill?
@아이둘-s1vI could feel a high level of sophistication in your final thoughts. You seem like a person of great character.
@z뿡뿡이zMichelin star is a scam
@youtube_critcwhat was the "tick' credit on the bill that made it $56?
@jaym7479갈비엔 무생채 끝!
@고테츠vYour youtube channel is perfect!

@animalsarebeautifulpeople3094Giving you thumbs up from south korea, what a calm and beautiful content this is
@02전Ate at Jungsik back when it still had only 2 Michelin stars and it was an amazing experience! I was the first table of the evening and so became the first diner to try pastry chef Lee's strawberry "bread & butter" dessert which debuted that night as a change from her usual baby banana course - really lucked out there as I don't care as much for banana flavored desserts. It was so playful and fun to eat, much in the same spirit as your carrot course (though it was not a supplement), but I sadly could not finish all of it because I ordered the sea urchin bibimbap supplement (so happy I did - it was heavenly!) and was nearly bursting at the seams at that point with a final dessert course and mignardises still left to eat. The other really memorable course for me that evening was the kimbap course, except mine was minced fatty tuna filled inside the seaweed roll (similar to a negitoro maki) instead of pieces of yellowtail placed on top. Looks like they kept a few other courses too from earlier years (like the galbi course, and the octopus course as noted) with variations here and there, including adding a 6th amuse bouche to the banchan course. Glad you enjoyed your dining experience at Jungsik as much as I did mine! Consistency appears to be their strength - that third Michelin star is well earned!
@stilapixieThis is supposed to be korean food?
@ed5141yeah... im convinced fine dining is a big scam
@Mysteryboy0007POOR OCTOPUS - HE IS MISSING AND EEND TENTACLE!
@lindanorris2455wow the number of dishes... surprised.
@rreinhardt2393They should have warned you about the hot food.
@ssparozic3463I loved Jungsik. But.. Not been there like 5 years or more because there are many other high end Korean fusion options now days.
@klaymoon1Wow!!!
@hope7519Idk if I’m too plain,, too American… or just not rich enough but this food isn’t something I’d ever want…the only time I’d ever eat something like this if I was in a when in Rome type situation
