EASY PHRASES FOR VACATION IN ITALY: How to Be Polite & Show Good Manners in Italian
Video Overview & Insights
This week I'm focusing on how to master good manners while on holiday in Italy as a tourist. With some polite key words or phrases you can have a much deeper and more authentic experience of Italy while being culturally sensitive and respectful. This is easy Italian for beginners with some more advanced phrases for those who have been studying Italian for a while.
Just back from Rome. after 444 days of Duolingo. It worked a bit . but i loved this video.

Every day I get so many emails and comments asking why you can’t locate the music I use or find it using Shazam. I purchase music licenses for almost all the music you hear in my videos. I buy them them from various royalty-free production music sites and most of the time they don’t list the performer because it’s music made only for film productions with an audio watermark throughout the entire track, unless you purchase the single-use license for $50-100 per track. I use a lot of opera so often I’ll reference the opera but I won’t be able to direct you to a recording of that specific performance that you could stream or buy on iTunes or Spotify. Hope that clears things up and thank you for appreciating quality music.

@SaeHansenThank you Kylie, I have watched this video a few times but unfortunately can only like it once ❤ it's a great learner thank you 🥰
@teresaevans993I'm not sure if you'll see this comment from this video two years ago. This video was so excellent and helpful. I have been studying italian and have visited italy twice and somehow miss this video. We are going again this year and I feel i'm so much more prepared for communicating every day. Would you ever consider doing more of these videos?
That show us how to use everyday language respectfully. As always, thanks for everything you do. I enjoy your videos so much
This is so, so helpful. Thank you for making this guide!
@Jess-sx9nz🫶

@kijinyaoIs it tu scusi and Lei scusa???
@randisandbu1237I’m a bit confused - I thought scusi is the tu form and scusa is the formal Lei.
@randisandbu1237Next week 😁
@helgawhiteley1568I'm blessed for being fluent in Spanish, French, basic German and I've been learning Italian for 6 months. It's really useful knowing not only the languages such as Spanish and French, but also knowing that an immense amount of respect is involved with those languages including Italian. It's made it easier for me to learn Italian and have a very broad understanding of the respect that comes with speaking to others in Italian. I started working for an Italian company 6 months ago here in the United States and they're sending me near Venice in Treviso for technical training. I've watched other videos to learn Italian however I appreciate your video the most because of the added intricacies having to do with respect and formalities. I leave for Italy in 1 week and I hope to be as proper and respectful as possible the same way I've been in Mexico, Spain, France and other countries. I'm going to watch your videos daily at least 2 times per day. I'm only going for 1 week this time, but they told me it will be a few times per year and next time it will be for 4 weeks. I would like to very politely ask the Italians that I come across, that I'm doing my best to learn their beautiful language and if I could please continue speaking Italian for practice. I'm an American from Southern California and I rarely speak English (my native language) when visiting any country. I love learning other cultures too. God bless you.
@er7586Hello Kylie, I have just found you on YouTube. I’m going to turn 70 in March and planning on travelling to Italy at some point this year, to see an old school friend who is Italian. I’m hoping to surprise her by learning a few Italian phrases! We met when we were 11 years old. She comes to London sometimes to see her mother but we always speak English for my benefit. Sorry to ramble. I am now a subscriber and looking for to trawling through your videos and also eagerly await new ones. Best wishes xx
@annefernandez9417Haha 😂 7:12 thats experience for you!
@anirudhvyas6069In Italy the queue is often confusing. A very quick way to understand when your turn is coming is to say: "Excuse me, who is the last in the line?" Once you have identified the last one in the line you are sure that after him it is your turn.
@OlivieroTacchellaintrested. agricultural pakingjob.
@SekhMohiddinThank-you for this really useful video. Now I know how to mind my p's and q's while I'm in Italy. Do Italians have a thing about not putting yourself first in a list, like in English. For example, "My friends and I went to the cinema." is normally preferred to "Me and my friends went to the cinema." I found this sentence in a beginners' Italian course book: "Ieri sera io e Gianni abbiamo guardato um film." and wondered if it should not be "Ieri sera Gianni e io abbiamo ..."
@suryahitam3588Thanks for this!! I'm about to travel and learning italian is so much fun
@agostina1046When my last BMW money pit died, I was convinced I needed a new one. A larger one. A better one. I had a 68k custom X3 on order that would have cost $1,200. While visiting in friends in Greece I had a true come to Jesus moment. What am I doing?? I canceled the car, bought a used Honda for less than half, and started investing. My goal is to get out of the US with my family and live a simplier life.
@Rtruo85THIS WEEK, baby!!!! ..............third time back! This time up North
@christinegreenberg1145I’m travelling in Italy now, and this video helped me take my courtesy to a level beyond grazie and prego. Italians are responding very well to the use of these phrases!
@zaccoraThank you so much! We are from Poland and just bought an aartment in Imperia - Liguria. We are so happy - we will use all the frazes ( hopefully Apart from the once related to being late 😂). All the best!
@dzidaspear6443Wow, this video is incredibly helpful! As tourists, we desire to be as respectful as possible. Thank you kindly for this video, so well done!
@mfolson81Yes even going into a relative’s house, or a neighbour’s house you say it. Good manners cost nothing. Your right Kylie. 👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍
@TheoriginalANGEK439Comprehensive lesson on being polite. Very Italian of you. Grazie
@nicg9904Just in Rome recently, most waiters rude.Not respecting their own culture.Most tourist shops owned by foreigners anyway.
Greece is everything Italy claims to be. Much more genuine people.
Yes outside central Rome people are very nice to be sure. Can’t believe restaurants are now serving “American breakfast “
We love Italy very just can’t handle the rude attitude and mobs of people. We do need to properly learn the language…
Un video eccellente che coglie pienamente lo spirito tipicamente italiano...se sei gentile molti ti aiuteranno!

@angelitac.7743Leaving in September for Italy and your videos will be such a benefit for me. Grazie Mille volte😊
@richardgeller7983It was 1am, I couldnt sleep, the night before flying out to Rome and a week's tour of Abruzzo, when I came across this video. I understand and read Italian but speaking it is harder as it's not my strongest language (Spanish, Portuguese), tho Italy is my favourite place in the world.
What a good video, how very helpful! And you are delightfu, and very lovelyl. I could be your mum, and unlikely now to move to Italy,, but I'm subscribing to your channel to learn more about the country I love, from you. Thank you for sharing your life here.
Beautiful
@MoonlightNothingIts a pleasure to listen to you. It seems you found a way back home. You belong where you are now. Namaste. 🙏
@martymakerI wish more Australians would go to Itally and become so polite as you. I see a lot of smiles around in Australia, but not always good intentions. You seem to be different. Thank you for this video. ❤
