Easy Homemade Tahini Recipe - How to Make Tahini
Video Overview & Insights
Making tahini at home is easy and much less expensive than buying from the store. We recommend looking for sesame seeds in bulk bins or at International, Asian and Middle Eastern markets for the best deals. While tahini can be made from unhulled, sprouted and hulled sesame seeds, we prefer to use hulled (or natural) sesame seeds for tahini. Tahini can be kept in the refrigerator for a month.
nice. suggestion: leave it in the food processor and add to it steamed-soft chickpeas, olive oil, garlic, and a squeeze of lemon, and blend it all until you have a thick creamy hummus!

@shinefia5987can't you use sesame oil??
@lisamarr9116Who makes that frying pan ?
@rubiconoutdoors3492Hi, can we use vitamix.
@BB-mv3suLooks great. But that amount would last me about five minutes. Instead of using neutral oil, I use toasted sesame oil to enhance the sesame flavor. Also, if you plan ahead, you can make your hummus directly following the tahini, and you only have to wash your food processor once.
😊
You can use it to make to make my chocolate tahini spread https://youtu.be/OjwCim_wYQ8?si=q3Filf5ocGokA9J4 :)

@Lala.H.RNo garlic?
@ft20_arizkiwibowo58I bought some and will make hummus with it and chickpeas,garlic, and sesame oil.
@hattiem.7966Sesame oil is BEST!!😳💪🏻✌🏻
@Sean-mf3llThe ideas here as how to cook chickpeas and make true DYI tahaini for hummus, worked just fine. As mentioned in the newest video, removing the hulls requires the patience of Job! Next time, I will try it "with" the hulls--that hull-removal process might be worth it; however, I am not wired for that kind of tedium to prep for a snack/spread/condiment no matter how exacting the presentation might require. SMOOTH!! WOW!! I like it! Gone is the graininess that commercial hummus contains. Plus one more TBS of water [or less for your taste] and the consistency to spread fits anyone's preferred palate! Thanks for posting!
