My Mom taught me how to make "Biscuits and Gravy" in 1960 - We would make "Drop Biscuits" instead of "Cut Biscuits" because they were crunchier and held the Gravy Better ! I still do today 66 years later

Man, your little side comments about where I could take this recipe are really helpful. I'm a nervous cook, so when you say, "you could add some herbs here", I really feel like I can take the wheel. Thanks for so many great videos!

Drop Scones? I used to mix my dry ingredients in a food processor. Just pulse it a few times until you come up with something that looks like bread crumbs

@artsy897Great biscuits I just made a pan I mixed gently took a spoon Dropped them on the baking sheet baked a few minutes then I dropped them on my plate yum yum two and drop biscuits I call them never had a biscuit this fluffy thank you!!!!!β€β€β€β€β€π π
@michealwest2494This man's recipes!!!! Good grief! These drop biscuits ( if you follow to the t and please use a scale) are just too yummy. Then the next day with some jam or preserves. Just unreal. Be careful. Very rich. It yields about 5 large fluffy buttery biscuits! The crumb is so delicious. I didn't have milk, so I used half and half and oat milk combined ..still was absolutely yummy. I've made them multiple times I'm starting to memorize the recipe. Try and use real milk... unnecessary fat with the half and half
@sistersunshine7This guy has the best recipes and he talks so much I cringe when I forget to write them down. I subscribed immediately after his pumpkin bread. I used to be a loyal marta Stewart only person, but this man's recipes are just the best I've ever tried. All his stuff is unbelievable. So much freaking talking! I guess I'll have to just buy his book.
@sistersunshine7Just made this -delicious . Thank you for the easy to follow instructions.
@MomMadness1Inspiring me to make these this week.
@aneet84A few of my clients have these ovens. Horrible. Do not buy.
@iankm1Hey I love drop biscuits but you can take it to the next level poor maybe an 8-inch of oil your choice and cook it when they get that brown on top pull the pan out I usually use a glass pan and when they get that brown on top pull them out let them sit on the stove perfectly
@NikD13-f9myou make simple recipes entertaining and keep me in the edge of laughter as you present each dish. thanks for making these videos .
@jimkirk41Delicious, bro.
But getting through this video felt like scrolling through adds to follow a written recipe. So many tangents!
I couldnβt figure out why my biscuits did not turn out like his. So, I thought it was a matter of using organic flour. Turns out that 240 grams equals 1-3/4 cups of flour. 250 grams is 2 cups of flour.
@lia-lindajohnson3584These are the most Caucasian biscuits ever. Flavorless.
@brianevans6343Love this π
@sistitulasiAdd a little sugar to the batter and it's a scone.
@solelsoleil3869Just made these for biscuits and gravy - delicious!!
@pettypedroakalsthecatI'm just gonna use red lobster cheddar bay biscuit mix, and my own spices and flare.
@williamw7583I make sort of a variation of this recipe all the time when I have leftover milk or buttermilk I need to use up. I use self rising flour (meaning, I donβt add leavening or salt, since those are in there already), and to determine the amount, I multiple the amount of milk (in ml) by 1.3β¦then, to determine the amount of butter, I do two thirds of whatever amount of milk I have (in ml). I bake at 450 for 15 mins. For buttermilk, instead, I do equal amounts (in ml) for self rising flour and milk, and half as much butter in ml.
@dab7271Tried it! Nice recipe. I forgot to leave the salt out since I had salted butter. But still yummy π
@HeyitsmeashleighJust made these for strawberries I picked today topped with fresh whipped cream. Delicious. πππ
@lwstarz422These are really good and easy. Cook at home it healthier and cheaper.
@andyroach420I donβt know if youβll read this or not but if you do, thank you so very very much!
@CatherineReardonLol, i will not be reducing the salt by a quarter teaspoon

@KeyDeo-y8wFantastic video. Im 68 and as far back as i can remember My grandmother made these exact biscuit's....as I still do today, at least once a week. I just made a batch this morning as a matter of fact. Gramma called them "depression drop's" and she literally dropped them on the sheet pan which was fun for me to do as a very young boy (lol). However, my aunt called them "soda biscuits" and she would pack a piece of cooked slab bacon in each one's center. I always make several batches before going camping, and a big batch of homemade sausage gravy to warm up the first morning of our trip for everyone. Its become a tradition that gathers all the families to our site to kick off the first day of the trip. Znd its nothing to serve 20+ people.
@ragtie6177This worked; i did add a little sugar. Ty!
@mayapapaya77Just made these and they taste exactly as described and just like my Mom used to make! Thank you for this recipe! I saved it as one of my "favorites"!
@OkinawaAdventure-un8omGood
@JovanepadonouVery good biscuits
@amberjackson3077You know I really really like your channel. I like you more.
I wish you would please, please write your recipes in the description.
Also, I'm old and don't know how to navigate other websites.. even when I click on the recipe line. I can't usually find the actual recipe.
A whole bunch of other dishes pop up but???
can you use this to make potato donuts? ππ
@CrystalHelselUse a cheese grader with the butter over the bowl and toss every so often and it makes it the right size. You can then use your block cheddar after than.
@paulchapman205Okay, your butter colored mixing bowl is Bomb!!! Straight Up! Absolutely Love it!!!
@diannebartkus9893I love your bowl! Where can I get one!β€
@CarBoH42I made these last weekend to go along with some homemade chicken chili and OMG these were delicious! Thank you!
