I was a plane catain/ jet mech on the f/a 18 from 1990-1994 and cannot tell you how many times I've had to pump the apu. Never saw our pilots pump it ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ . If they did a stopover somewhere like a afb and theirs no plane captain they would pump it, rare though.
As the camera pans, you'll witness the majestic presence of the EA-18 Growler standing proudly on the tarmac. With its distinctive twin tail fins and striking contours, it exudes a sense of sheer power and purpose.
Zooming in, you'll notice the fighter's robust landing gear, meticulously engineered to handle the most demanding missions. The high-resolution footage allows you to examine the intricate mechanical components, showcasing the precision craftsmanship that went into building this formidable machine.
Hmmm, the Growler airshow team...
Moving towards the cockpit, you'll gain a glimpse of the pilot's domain. Its advanced avionics and multi-functional displays create an immersive experience for the pilot, enabling them to navigate the skies with unparalleled efficiency.
As the video focuses on the rear section of the aircraft, you'll encounter the EA-18 Growler's distinctive tailhook, an essential feature for carrier-landing operations. This aircraft is built to handle extreme conditions and support naval operations at sea.

The video also highlights the aircraft's jamming capabilities, showcasing the array of sophisticated electronic warfare systems seamlessly integrated into its structure. These cutting-edge technologies equip the EA-18 Growler to neutralize enemy radar and communication systems, shaping the outcome of modern warfare.
Whether you're an aviation enthusiast or simply fascinated by advanced military machinery, this detailed walkaround video of the EA-18 Growler is sure to captivate you. Prepare to be amazed by the sheer complexity and elegance of this extraordinary aircraft as it stands as a testament to human ingenuity and technological advancement.
Man, I felt like a student watching you explain what the switches do. Hopefully, we will get the F-18E/F in DCS soon.

Thanks for everything, especially your service to our country.
@stkbkr1Best video ever!!! Love how you explained what you could! Especially in the cockpit!!
@Cliff.theBRDJust wondering why are we giving these features and capabilities of our technologies via social media platforms? We are giving ideas to our adversaries. No wonder our adversaries either match or exceed our technologies. ๐ค
@willc407I know all about the accumulator and the workout crewing rh-53d seastallions.
@timanderson5543Inpsiring - makes me wish I had chosen a different path after college! At 23:10 there appears to be a cilvilian-dressed guard with a 223 deterent system...is Tyler Tx that much of a security threat???
@tsmith4338Military mustache
@Jetcarson4You sound like rex bear your all going to be fucked.

@xavier9608A10 Warthog & The Growler ๐ฎ.
@michaelanderson3096What a bird... no doubt why it's my favorite one... High AoA, pretty good speed and all the electronic warfare mayhem you can cause. Basically a flying blackout!
@NINJA9801love you
@BillyHawkins-my8pynavy refueling you have sex with the refueler, air force refueling the airforce has sex with you

@phx4closuremanThis is the best walk around video I have come across super cool and thank you for your service.
@sumojames3540give me the speeds and keys and I'm off...nicely done.
@FLYBOY123456789Super ๐ Thank you
@ALPHARICCO875I like the APU handle. You can crank start the bird ๐
@edkonstantellis9094Back seat tour was cool. I was privileged to get fam-flight in both the RF-4C and F-15E. I thought the pilot from the F-4 was screwing with me when he said the jet had rear view mirrors.
@michaelzimmerman635Ha ha, I can relate to critiquing those that out rank you. I was fully watch supervisor qualified in both tower and radar as an E-5 (fast burner). Pointing out mistakes of higher ranking trainees didn't go over well, especially when I had to key in the mic to override them AND their trainer. Good times.
@michaelzimmerman635You ain't seen flames until you witness an F-111 take off at night in a RSU.
@michaelzimmerman635YOU have to pump your APU? That's what AGE personnel are for. At least in the AF.
@michaelzimmerman635Oak Harbor High School class of 76 and retired USAF air traffic controller here. I've watched and heard Prowlers and Growlers most of my life. How? My parents house is directly below your downwind to base turn to runway 32 at NAS Whidbey. The Sound of Freedom. Lots of sound. Less than those Prowler guys, but not much. ๐
@michaelzimmerman635I was VAQ-134, 1981-1985. EA-6B Prowler. Enlisted. ADAN, worked line too. VAQ-129 was a training squadron I believe back then. Sure wish we had those birds back in my day!
@43wagonwheelHe calls a Aircraft Carrier a boat its a ship
@AlienGamer38Sexy planeโค
@NickyMason-o2oShould explain what a growler does what its job is
@johnmoorhousedecorated-nam899Pilots in the cockpit are soon going to be obsolete.
@kirkdecker6228I have over 100 hours in the F/A-18 in msfs and I have never gotten this thing up to 1200 like he said. Lol
@Jimmysage3273got a friend who is married to the XO of 140 the patriots, we went on base 1 time and it was fun
@TorichianI'm always learning something from your videos. ๐
@GreenEyez6667Wow. Lol I thought that was a bomb too. Lol. It's a fule tank. Ok. I learned something. I love watching this. I wanted to be on a Air craft carrier. Well work. I watch this all the time. Can't get enough of watching these videos.
Thanks. All do a fantastic job.
very interesting, this is great
@IRobot4EverGreat WalkaRound! I watch the EA 18's fly around Whidbey Island everyday and now I have a better understanding as to what I'm admiring.
@rede2useAwesome vid, thank you. Really shows the stresses and forces on the pilot and airframe ๐ช
@onthepipeThe US Military is so confident and assured, it will reveal all the inner workings of the jets, letting the Chinese know, while youโll never get these kinds of videos from the Chinese.
@ahphong2904๐ด Why are idiots like this freely giving out information to the Chinese Communist Party??
@user-ep1ks2pq5rThat is really not what I thought a hook would look like.
@Mort_OOPzHow long do you think the navy will keep these in service for?
@sidtasker2937AoA is angle of attack sensor it is tied to many different systems to help detect stall conditions and assists with landing conditions.
@Watchingyou-dailyThank you so much sir for the tour. I thought I knew a lot about the growler but this was very enlightening and I testing. You did a great job explaining all of the systems and hardware.
@mikec2825Amazing tour - so much complexity! As our military becomes more diverse, we will not be able to maintain & operate these craft any longer.
@dogbone-2My jaw had dropped to the ground and was digging in by the time he got to the ladder and I thought this was the wrap-up - THEN he zipped up the flaps of his flight suit and the next shot was him climbing in. I got Dizzy with More excitement. Thank you both. Enjoyed this so much and learned so much more about well... FLY NAVY!
@DaveSPartyVery comprehensive. Thanks
