Steven, you have accompanied me every night for over a year now. I think you are the reason my sleep has improved. I love the story about Will and his two dogs. It resonated with me and affected me deeply as I also have a rescue cat and never realised how deeply you can love your pets. My cat Bono suits me to the ground as he loves to be squeezed and cuddled and I love to squeeze and stroke him. Dusty, on the other hand, is a very dark grey cat with white socks and a white bib and he lives outside and is respectful of Bono, who is the alpha male. Otis from across the road, is Bono’s nemesis. He looks very similar to my Bono, who is tabby and white and they are hard for strangers to tell apart. You can imagine the carry on at meal times.
I related to Will very much as I am also retired and very grateful that I have found a lot of peace and satisfaction in my life, doing what I want, when I want or doing nothing at all.
I find your stories about animals particularly comforting. Thank you for that.
