Wesley clearly has some sort of personality disorder.
Its obvious he has low self-esteem and is insecure and lacks self-identity and social skills. He also lacks the ability to respect boundaries; and he is impulsive and immature and inexperienced (probably his only exposure to gay world was through the pages of Tom of Finland book [hence his ToF look i.e. mustache, hairy chest. That 'geographic map outline' tattoo tells me he has come from a rural region (where being gay was hard) but that place is still close to his heart.

Wesley doesn't know what he wants or who he is (common dilemma for people with personality disorder/ closeted gay men). He is definitely attracted to Matt's personality and wants to be confident and openly gay like Matt.

Is Matt dead?
I suspect he is.
When things go odd between them and Matt asks him to leave. Wesley's face changes (angry/rage?). Perhaps because Wesley feels rejected. Then there is Matt's whimpering sound (around 10:24) followed by they both lying in bed. You look closely and compare their chests...Wesley is breathing while Matt's not.
Wesley shaving his chest hair aggressively is him self harming for what he has done to Matt.
Then of course Wesley walks out alone wearing Matt's red hoodie, headphones (that Matt wore in the gym earlier).

Wesley is a psychopath.

Wesley was jealous of Matt from the beginning, considered him more handsome than him and had fallen madly in love with his hairless face and chest.

I think he had a schizophrenic temperament and even killed him in the end.
But that wasn't enough for him, he suffered from his loss and tried to take his place and resemble him, furiously shaving his chest.

Matt didn't react, neither when he touched him on the bed, nor to the sound of the water running from the faucet, that's why I think he was already dead...at least this is my interpretation.

This short is a masterpiece, and a real study into the hidden, psychological horror.
Have to say, your direction is really professional and all your films; I find great tension which is escalating and building.

i feel like people are totally missing how much the movie signals the ending way before it happens because the whole time wesley is obsessed with matt's chest. at the beginning, he is literally doing chest presses and later when the wesley is alone in the locker room he's checking his own chest in the mirror. even after the couch scene he literally falls into matt's chest and in the bedroom thats the specific body part he fixates on touching. thats why the bathroom scene is so brutal its not just random self harm he's trying to carve himself into the image of matt that hes been staring at the whole time. he sees the smooth shaved chest in bed and immediately tries to replicate it with a razor even if it means bleeding out.

Truly the most monstrous act in this film was him shaving his chest hair.
