Respect for the quality which Denmark really have as a team but there is no other sport on this planet where umbrella organization (IHF, EHF) is so under the influence of one national team, from rule adjustments, tournaments organizations and schedules to referees protection...This sport could be really beautiful and hugely more popular with strict rules and better overall organizational structure.

This Icelandic team was the perfectly fitted to beat the invincible Danes: small, fast, gritty, fighting, never quitting. And they still lost.

Denmark had only very few defenders left to cover the middle. 2 injured during the tournament, and then there were only 2 left and no possibility of replacement. And one (Simon Hald) was injured/dizzy and for safety reasons was taken to the hospital during the break, so it was with difficulty that the defense managed to get through the match with unfamiliar formations. Only with Saugstrup as a consistent figure.

What a brilliant game! Iceland played really well, there’s just not much to be done against the final boss Denmark. Wow!

For once, Emil Nielsen did not have a good day. Only a few saves in open play and that was Iceland's chance. I hope that Emil Nielsen will be bak to his 40 percent in the final. Denmark will need him against Germany

it wasnt the prettiest game. many fouls, many penalties, very physical game... but the best team won. simple as that.

Honestly? how disgusting can referees be? on both sides, but holy cow did the referees go the way of the danish team. its NOT okay to have that low level of competence for a semifinal of a main event. im very very very unpleased

Honestly, stellar performance by iceland. Their only flaw was that they had to play against Denmark. Denmark is just that good.

Iceland = run Strait into the defence, and get a H U G E number of free throw. Infact, I have never seen any like that.
When other teams and judges get wise on what really happen, Iceland will fall deeper... Thank good they are out.. So happy they are fully gone, lost, and out. 😊

Iceland was clearly treated unfairly by the referees. Honestly, I never thought there would be such flaws in officiating at a major tournament like the Euros, but quite frankly, the referees wronged this hardworking and wonderful team. Denmark does not need help from anyone. Greetings from Egypt to the Icelandic team ..... you are truly amazing, comrades.

Iceland did almost everything except not using their wingers, but maybe that is because of Danish defence. Also they needed Halgrimsson to show up with a couple of saves, but that did not happen. But Kristjansson, Smarasson, Magnusson are great players, it just wasn't enough for this Danish team and home crowd. Gidsel, after all, is the best player in the world for a reason. I don't see how can they lose elimination game in the near future. But this Iceland team is very good, and i can see them winning sth big in the next years.

Gisli Kristjansson is the most pathetic crybaby I have ever seen. His whole playing style is taking six steps and throwing himself into the defense to somehow get a penalty. All this praise for him just to have three scorer in this game, while Gidsel 14 scorer. There are levels to this game…

Don't worry, Iceland. You'll be back stronger next year! Denmark is simply slightly faster, has a bigger roster, and, as always, the referees will be biased towards the host country.
