Day 6 of No Caffeine
Video Overview & Insights
What's your favorite kind of herbal/caffeine free tea?
I had to decaffeinate because I was wearing myself off of sleep aids. I slowly lowered my doses of both and at some point got down to a few cups of strongly brewed decaf tea in the morning. I limit myself to an occasional Ambien ( maybe once a week). Interestingly I also sleep better if I donāt drink decaf after midday because even decaf has some caffeine. Also retired from nursing, which helped my stress level a lot, and now have a very regular bedtime.
All that being said, I love caffeine!

I stopped drinking coffee about 7 months ago. Beside the great smell coffee has I don't miss it at all ... No coffee has a lot of benefits when you do it for a long time, one month is just the beginning.

I stopped caffeine for a while because of a heart condition, it changed my life. Eventually I started drinking green tea and chocolate because it has very little caffeine and I don't feel the difference between no-caffeine and little caffeine. I think you can drink chocolate and see if it makes any difference to you.

A thought...what about taking several months-a year and test hair growth tricks. Your wifey could also participate as well and see if it changes her hair. Does that appeal to you at all?

"I would like to not go back to being like completely addicted to it?"
But, you will Blanche, you will! šš
It's a drug, plain and simple.

I gave up coffee, tea etc. last August. I'm still eating chocolate occasionally and drinking the odd cup of decaff.
So, I'm not totally caffeine free. But, I sleep really well and that was one of the aims.
Try Celestial Seasonings Bengal Spice flavor (it's sweet and spicy). And if you like to add milk, rooibos works well.
I stopped coffee (long time ago) and drink mostly green tea mixed with chamomile (total lightweight, I know. Yeah, there is caffeine in green, but much less than in any kind of coffee). IMHO it's better to keep the caffeine level steady or you'll really feel the jolt/jangling when you have a full-caf beverage (and that can suck you back in... or make you feel gross). In my experience...
I can easily go 4 years
Im currently 1 month
I need to reconsider the money spent
I loved everything about caffiene, but
Sometimes i gotta control it
I keep thing i love in check
The more you practice something you love , the more you hate it
Took 3 caffeine pills after my morning coffee... And before my energy drink :)
@ajharford1581People who don't consume caffeine compared to people who do, have higher suicide rates. Says a lot.
@K-Man47i thought you were vsauce
@SeƱorBueno136I love hot water with fresh ginger and lemon
@katiearthofer9544quitting coffee while under lock down.... I would rather clamp a pair of Vise Grips to my testes and jump off the roof.... good luck.... :)
@jonsmith9892Doing without caffeine doesn't bother me. I don't consume much anymore anyway. But I never took up coffee drinking ever. So morning caffeine has never been a part of my routine. As I'm getting older, though, I'm noticing that caffeine at night disrupts my sleep more. I like having tea with dinner sometimes, but on those nights I have to make sure and limit how much I have and also not have that one more glass that I sip on for a couple of hours before trying to go to sleep.
@darrellhart8129Cool! I did the same because of the pandemic, to help manage anxiety symptoms. and now I'm drinking a ton of black and green tea. I'd say the dosage of caffeine is a different ride, and then maybe have a bit of coffee every few days. Good luck - it's definitely an addiction.
@feliciousdoyleš š š I like this guy! Hilarious!
@briangallagher6839Caffeine is good š2cups coffee max
@drksimi3I periodically go on trips and donāt have coffee or run out of my premade coffee, so I go without for 1-3 days. I havenāt experienced bad side effects from that, when I normally drink coffee every morning...
@allys4415I tried coffee once and its disgusting. Not missing out on anything.
@infinitechoices1641I was drinking my 2nd cup as I strolled onto this video, you know what? Fuck it, you've inspired me to give up my favorite beverage for absolutely no reason other than these headaches
@wwekkleYou sound like you need a coffee in this video.
@MihneaStoianMy solution? Never get addicted in the first place. It only takes one, kids. It only takes once.
But in all seriousness, I don't need caffeine to get started in the morning; I also don't want it. I've found that when I DO have caffeine first thing in the morning, it has the opposite effect it does on most people, and I think its because I'm not used to it-- instead of being happier and more functional, I end up being jittery and super mad at everybody. I've been told about body chemistry before, and it makes sense-- that your body already produces chemicals when you first wake up to wake you up, which would explain why I am perfectly functional when I have to wake up at 3am for work sometimes.
Also caffeine free wheezy has got a real cool and chill vibe about him.
@BaileySuttonMusicI used to be someone who drank coffee at least a couple times a day, until I realized the days I went without were brutal and gave me bad head aches. Now I am a person who only drinks coffee only a couple time a week and its pretty great! I actually feel the caffeine buzz now which is fun. I save it for moments I need an extra boost. I still drink caffeinated teas throughout the week.
@BaileySuttonMusicI love the listening vids
@tereasiaSrsly, it's not bad for you. Just bloody have some.
@tereasiaWhy are you dping this?????????? What is the point?????????
@tereasiaIt's weird how taking addictive stimulants every single day (and often numerous times throughout the day) isn't good for you.
@shermansadventure1151I quit caffeine a few months ago because it was starting to give me the shakes (after more than 30 beautiful years together!). I tried all the teas, but I am a coffee lover for the taste, so tea just didn't do it for me. I have finally settled on a few good decaf coffees that satisfy that 'taste' for coffee without the adverse side effects. The tiredness will even out eventually. Hang in there! Stay safe, everyone!
@elizabethbrown5840What a coincidence i ran out of tea last 2 weeks i think and here's what i felt:
Very Sleepy
Irritated easily
No energy
I lost count of the days i havent had caffeine and those things gradually fades but that craving for tea still makes me lose my sanity
Why not green tea though?
@christelhall9379<3
@internalsunshine101Life is short just have the coffee and be happy.
@paulrook3484Caffeine is not healthy. It tells your nervous system you are being chased by a tiger. Increases cortisol. Not good.
@roblovegreenYou guys are so precious. Blessings to you all.
@megalopolis2015Coffee not be fit for everyone I think
@wanggeorge3065I legit thought he was Michael of VSauce. I'm so dumb to realized it 6 mins later.
@AAFitnessJourney88I don't know why but the "I like you." Really warmed my heart!
@Mellenhead_BoyIāve been trying to do that but I find my hyperactivity going nuts WITHOUT it as crazy as that may sound
@Jeanelle_CharClicked this thinking it was the guy from Vsauce but clearly its his depressed twin brother
@jasonmorasch33I quit smoking weed and damn its difficult if there was ever a time to quit something guys its now it wont interfear with work and u can deal with it at home great video hope all goes well.
@tylerR512I canāt go one day without one cup of tea...after 24 hours I just get a terrible headache..awful ..itās amazing..Iām tapering drop by drop
@davidlister6721Iām on week 3 and the only symptom i have is extreme tiredness which comes on from out of no where, so i end up napping a lot.
@CarllizardMakes me anxious and destroys my whole day no thanks <3
@alexanderborg0611Eat your chocolate - it has as much caffeine as decaf coffee
@gaiblerosuI drink coffee 2 times a week and it affects me way more than drinking it everyday
@carfuen1073It is possible to live without coffee. Strong black tea can slightly help with the withdrawn ;)
I haven't drink coffee for about a year and I'm not drawn to it, so... Good luck :)
I had cancer and had to quit while I was on chemo and a while after I recovered too, total about 6 months with no coffee: WORST. TIME. OF. MY. LIFE. I craved coffee all the time. Had to get back to being cafeinated as soon as I could.
@LaloHQMan, that "how are you?" With that facial expression, almost made me answer. Even with the possibility of been just what you "scripted" for the video but anyway felt a good connection and it is awesome that you could convey that through a video. Thanks for that man
@renatosantos1988My favorite herbal tea is citrus lavender, it has a really nice calming effect.
