"Another Green World" is a magic record. The fact that it is included in the same bag as that overhyped crap by Rosalía is an affront to Eno 🙂

Met Daniel Lanois before a concert he was performing in Cincinnati in the 1990s. I was around 20 years old, enthusiastic to meet the man who produced some of the soundtracks of my youth. He had a smile like a python and slowly nodded as though he was absorbing our very basic, honest questions. His singular response was asking if we liked the jeans he was wearing... told us how much they cost and that he bought them in France. My small group of friends just looked at one another, almost in shock but smart enough to know this guy is an absolute douchebag. Imagine having all that success then pissing on some earnest kids in Ohio. This year marks my 35th year in the music industry, and luckily I've got only a few stories of genuine idiots like Lanois. He looks like absolute sh*t here.

No man, that Nrian eno "lesson" was just ego. I'm not on board with that at all. A multitude of opinions iswhat makes great outcomes. I'm also curious how many of the "ideas we all get on board with" weren't his. Lame. 🎉

Such a talented producer is Lanois.
Aside from the terrific ‘Yellow Moon’ album which he himself produced, Lanois’ selections in this epsode are vapid and disappointing.
Especially so the pretentious, superficial excerpts from French ’nouvelle vague' cinema back in the day.
Oh well, can’t win them all.

I brought up this guy's name to a friend of mine and he said " Man, that guy's music is better than half of the bands he's made gold records for and no one knows his name much less is own music" .. This guy is an absolute treasure ( and a wizard )

Great episode! Daniel Lanois doesn’t just produce records, he creates atmosphere. I can’t quite explain his sound, but I know it every time I hear it. And what an opening choice: the Neville Brothers’ Yellow Moon. An underrated, mysterious masterpiece
and I’m still dying to get my hands on a vinyl copy of his gorgeous solo album Shine.

Preach, Daniel! I’m also French-Canadian and feel a distant connection to Cajun culture.

I discovered Daniel Lanois' name as a kid, reading the back of the U2 albums I would borrow from my brother. Lanois and Brian Eno. Then I heard him talk about working with Willie Nelson. Just great music. He seems like a brilliant guy with a broad taste in music. I love people that enjoy folk but love electronic and many styles.

Daniel's choices did not disappoint!
