@djc7378It is interesting to note those with a poor opinion of the Colonel have no specific examples of anything the Colonel did wrong, only vague allusions such as the Colonel had gambling debts, which no one has ever shown any evidence of to be true. Let's be logical for a second. Would a man everyone knows loved money more than anything (despite what Lamar says in this video) really gamble away all he owns and only do it in one casino but never gamble other than with the Beatles to anyone's recorded memory??? In terms of dollars, Elvis was always #1 in his field from the time he returned from the army. He was the highest paid actor and then the highest paid Las Vegas performer and he went on to break attendance records and pioneer global performance, all due to the Colonel. Some blame the Colonel for Elvis selling his back catalogue to RCA, unwilling to accept the truth Elvis demanded and agreed to the deal, the Colonel simply brokered it and it was the biggest best deal of all time at the moment it was made, such a huge deal the Colonel was praised industry wide for an incredible success, everyone sure RCA had been suckered because everyone knew rock n roll was about to fade away. But you can set everything else aside and just ask yourself, was Elvis such a bad judge of character he hooked up with Parker and stuck with him his entire lifetime? Elvis loved the Colonel and the Colonel loved Elvis and despite what any backup singer who spent far less time with Elvis than the Colonel did says, we have no idea if either ever told the other he loved him, but we do know they embraced and wept together after the first show at the International.

@Rock4UNowParker was a conman, totally out of his depth. He harmed Elvis’ career, made poor deals, held Elvis back as an artist. Elvis was the biggest new star and most controversial singer in 1955, record companies wanted him and tv wanted him. He would have become a superstar no matter who managed him. His incredible success was despite Parker and RCA, who also handled his career poorly.
@tcbsince73I've always believed Parker screwed over Elvis every chance he got. Elvis was an intelligent man who trusted Parker way more than he should have.It is more complicated than what I've said but Parker was a supreme selfish, sneak con and liar.
