I think Punk is going heel. I said this right after he won. He did the Hogan ear cup taunt twice. This was no mistake, the last time I remember him doing this was in London, also very intentionally. The looks that he gave Sami, him not shaking sami’s hand or anything like that, Sami’s promo afterward, Michael Cole saying “CM Punk can do whatever the hell he wants” I think we might be getting a CM Hogan-esque character.

@fanciestofcats7111This is great booking for Sami and his character arc.
He won the title with a roll up. Not a decisive match ending move. Thst can lead into pushing that Sami got lucky/fluke win.
Backed up with him losing in his 1st defence pushes the narrative thst hes was good enough to win the belt not be the champion.
They can spend the next half year til mania building his story that hes 'just not quite the guy'. Until he finally wins it again and prives everyone wrong.
It fits with his 'last real good guy' persona too. He can whinge and complain. His entire character is a heel who thinks hes a good guy.
Sami winning in Saudi and Punk in Chicago just feels cheap to me. I’m all for shorter reigns and passing the belt around but you don’t do it for a “he’s from here” pop. I want surprises in these stories. Not a bunch of unrelated occurrences.
