I am 31 now, and sometimes I can spend hours reminiscing about the past, often with a sense of pain and longing for how things used to be. Friends, family, parties, holidays… I feel this strong urge to hold on tightly to the past. It sometimes makes me feel like most of my life is already behind me.
Then suddenly a few months ago your song came on shuffle, and that was the first real moment of reflection. I stood in the kitchen with tears in my eyes.
Whenever I find myself stuck again in a stream of nostalgic thoughts, I put this song on and realize that life is now. Not yesterday, not tomorrow, but today.
It’s heartwarming and gives me back optimism and joy to live in the present. Grateful for what has been, with my arms wide open to today. <3 Thank you Chris.
