You had a nightmare trying to study English sentence structure 🙄 I've beat the bark off pine trees with my forehead studying chinese sentence structure. You do English speaking people no favors with a translation in what we would say usually. I have no doubt whatsoever if you sentenced the direct sentence word for word or at least the sentence word for word the same context of the sentence English speakers would progress much much faster. Because you are automatically getting our brains reprogrammed to think sentence wording in correct mandarin speaking. Even though you are translating the sentence in the way we would say it it's doing no justice to us. My opinion and it's just mine is if you're going to translate it do it accurately and what chinese language flow in sentencing is not even close to English flow. That's why most English speakers drown instead of swim. Also I've let my teachers have it, I've told them why teach phrases nobody speaks. Nobody says ni hao to greet in China so why teach it for a greeting 🙄.

Hi, welcome to ShuoshuoChinese 说说中文; my name is Shuo, I’m a native Chinese teacher living in Bangkok, Thailand, I’ve been teaching Chinese as a foreign language for more than 10 years and I’m also a language learner.

In this channel, I will upload a weekly video, in which I talk about Chinese vocabulary, Chinese grammar, Chinese culture, Chinese stories with pinyin and the English translation for listening practice.

what if you want to describe the subject of the sentence like a relative clause in English? For example: The book that I bought yesterday is expensive.

— @日本語上手になる

With my channel, you can easily start to learn and understand complicated Chinese grammar, sentence structure, and differences/nuances between similar Chinese words.

If you are a Chinese beginner, I’m planning to upload videos about what Chinese language is, how it differs from English, Chinese pronunciations, Chinese characters and Chinese stroke sequences and a mini Chinese course, (10 minutes per day), which can help you learn quickly and easily. Don’t miss it!

I think 1:54 认真 ren4zen1 should be ren4zhen1 which is zhen1 real/true character.

— @serhatuyanmis1493

So, subscribe to my channel and start your Chinese learning journey!

Thank you for shading light on my confusion in constructing sentences.This helps a lot🫶❤

Historically, grammar was first created to teach Latin. Then everyone attempted to apply modified versions to other language.

Whoever came up with pinyin needs to be up against a wall! When has X been used to sound like an S, and when are Cs said like a T? Show me an old man English, Mandarin-speaking guru, please. And just one last point why do all these gurus call it Chinese? There is no such language unless you are referring to characters. Stop it!

@ConspiracyPundit
@

All I have become is a walking phrasebook, and spouting phrases at Chinese people always gives this response... tingxibuweishimadonxiwenan, spoken at lightning speed. When all you are looking for is one or two-word replies to make it easier. Never tell a Chinese person they are talking too fast, they will just laugh and carry on. I have never met an English speaking person that after being told that, then needs to be told to slow down, but the Chinese do. Think I am making this up? Been in China over ten years. All these gurus have one thing in common, they have a gift for memory and probably started young. I am currently having tee shirts made with the words, Talk to me like a small child!
