this is a fantastic retrospective, and as an American fan of Golf, this year (2026) i would love to see JR win this Open. and, yes, Tommy would be my 2nd, sentimental, favorite. that said, just know that Phil has more 2nd place finishes in just the US Open alone (the only major he has not won), than all of the 2nd's in majors which JR has managed to accumulate. yes. but in my mind, JR is a far greater player than his Major career has shown. the Olympic Gold was an outstanding example of this. best of luck to Rosie!

Justin Rose is pure class. He has always been one of my favorite golfers on the PGA Tour. Clutch in big moments, cold as ice, and a gentleman in victory and defeat. Someone I’m always rooting for to win the Masters or Open. Hope he gets another one soon. Thanks for this R&A.

There is not a single golfer in the field next week that I would prefer to see winning the claret jug than rosey. An absolute gentleman and class act!

I was disappointed this past April he had a really good chance to win the Masters and just didn't play his best on the back 9. Justin Rose has become my favorite golfer. A total class act

I'll never forget the day , as the greens Super at Tylney Park GC, our pro, Chris de Bruin, came up to me on his buggy and introduced me to this teenager saying" l want you to look after this lad for a couple of days.
He wants to be a pro and he IS good enough, just teach him a little about course maintenance".
He was a junior at nearby Northants GC .
Soon afterwards , he did turn pro and I've followed his EVERY shot since.
Watching him drilling balls down the range until it got dark, it was so obvious where he was headed.

Huge Justin Rose fan from the early days and still remember him playing the Scottish Open at Loch Lomond GC. Even in those early days, when he was finding his feet on the European Tour, he showed his class by engaging so positively with fans and always showed such genuine gratitude to anyone who praised him. Will always consider him one of the best players/ ambassadors for golf and elite level sport regardless of how many trophies he wins. He is a class act!

I would rank the Masters and Open Championship as co-equal as the number one major for different reasons.

Oh man! What a great little film, very well produced, Rose comes over incredibly well. More behind Rosey for next week than any other time now. Come on Justin, let’s get it done!

so sad to have such an impact at that age, all that success, all that money, i mean a lot of money, and the only thing the guy wants is his home trophy. oh well, Im just going to keep battling to pay rent whilst even affording golf is a dream.
