Scientist here. "A" for cool animation. "F" for utterly missing the definition of the scientific term, "Abiogenesis." Abiogenesis is very very very specifically the origin of life from inanimate non-living chemicals. Natural chemicals and environments with no outside interference. That wasn't what this film was about. What this short film did clearly animate was the concept of "panspermia", the seeding of life on Earth from preexisting extraterrestrial life, an idea that conveniently fails to address abiogenesis at all.
It is as if there was a film titled, "Werewolf," which turns out to be all about the life of an ordinary Teacup Chihuahua, yip-yapping-angry at being carried in a purse all it's life. Cool film. Totally misleading name.

Conceptually, the machines are ... not believable. At first, they can fly, but then they have to roll on the ground for some unknown reason, and finally, the central machine has to stumble like a clumsy college robot. It's more of an animation demo than a film.

Of course this is the exact OPPOSITE of abiogenesis. And the Designer Ignorance level is off the scale here: Physics mean nothing to the people who made this, and that is why you feel vaguely insulted when watching it. It's 4-year-old make-believe stuff.
