I was mesmerised by this song by Peabo and Celine taking my sons to see the movie in the 90s , I was the last person in the theatre sat listening to this exquisite version of beauty and the beast , at 69 many years later I’m playing this on my new piano with great appreciation 💝

Thank you, Mr. Peabo Bryson, for the childhood memories and beautiful music that I shared with my late mother, aunt, and brother. Now, I can share them with my children and grandchildren. ❤

As an ex Disney imagineer myself, this song is just a masterpiece, period. The glassy DX7 Rhodes, the sharp Roland 808/909 percussion, it's the quintessential 80's / early 90's ballad. It could have just as easily been Whitney Houston with these production values. Disney went HAM on the programming, the mixing, the vocals, everything. Pairing up Céline Dion and Peabo Bryson whose voices complement the contemporaneous synth textures perfectly, that icy chord punching through the modulation right when Bryson takes the mic with that warm bassline and the call/response with the lead 🤌 it's a masterclass in using key changes to evolve the phrasing. It's crazy this much talent was poured into an animated movie for kids... Rest in peace, Peabo Bryson!!!

My best friend @oliviagbedell just got married this past weekend and she and I have been friends for 10 years exactly already ever since 8th grade, and we first met doing “Beauty and the Beast” as our school play. And I wanted the role of Belle more than anything since I love her character and I knew her lines by heart and I saw so much of myself in her, but instead of my best friend got the role while j got cast as an extra which made me feel so damn jealous. But we didn’t know each other yet. Eventually in rehearsals, I ended up letting go of the jealousy since I realized that she literally was Belle, not just in character but legit in real life. Like, she was just like Belle in real life, sweet, kind, empathetic, smart, mature for her age, grounded, down-to-earth, independent, and beautiful. So, I accepted that and let go of the jealousy and we ended up conversing during a break time in a rehearsal and we ended up hitting it off and becoming besties. And I requested this song to play at her wedding reception since to me, my best friend will always be Belle. But, unfortunately it didn’t play, but now that I hear this song, I always think of her and how beautiful my best friend looked at her wedding, she looked so much like a princess. 🥹❤️
