Celebrity Interviews Are Dead. TikTok Killed Them...
Video Overview & Insights
We need to talk about what’s going on with celebrity interviews, because they’ve never felt weirder, more awkward, or more TikTok-ified than they do right now. From the cringe Fantastic Four interviews to influencers asking movie stars about gen z slang and thirst traps replacing actual journalism, the movie press tour has officially lost the plot.

In this video, I break down how traditional press interviews are being replaced by viral moments, how studios are pushing TikTok-style promotion, and why even real journalists are being forced to play along. From David Corenswet's thirst trap roll-out in Superman to Reece Feldman doing it right, we’re diving into the full collapse of movie publicity, and what it says about how we treat celebrities today.

I appreciate this. My mom is a journalist. But like an og journalist who studied journalism and wrote for The Times. So I really appreciate this. Professional journalism is awesome.
@emmascholtz608016:18 why TF is that the best response to what she said.. I would legit MELT and I didn't even think Pedro Pascal is hella attractive but Jesus his vibe and how he holds himself and how we played along w the whole "daddy" thing is attractive. I hate when men call their girls mommy but mami and mama/mamas is just so peak to me. Also seems like Pedro likes it ngl

@BrowardBrawlerThis is why I love hot ones, they’re recent interview/video with BTS shows that they genuinely love and enjoy the people they invite on. He asked questions that centered more around the members and people and their struggles and experiences getting to the top. I think the boys genuinely enjoyed being there because they actually had to think about their answers and they weren’t same run of the mill questions that are asked at award shows.
@angelichobi__18Isn't WAP by Megan the stallion? Body positivity?
@pranavshukla5368I don’t disagree but I think it’s gotten worse but was always bad I mean it’s a perfusion don’t get me wrong but when some one at a point we’re their a hyper specialized to be the one of the best in the world in their fields no one no matter how knowledgeable and hard working can get any we’re near their level meaning when other people with the slightest bit of knowledge on the topic themselves they typically loses all interest do to the questions being so boring and your luckily if the first one doesn’t nock the interviewer out cold
@Kyle-p1r2oAhhh ‘disappointed Cillian’ anyone? 👀
@katieravonn5846Daddy
@GEOFFREYPARIScinema
@sayahhhhhhhhhThese "influencers" are just modern day paparazzi but in this case they are welcomed to be inappropriate
@jenshively5447Tge first interview you can tell her partner was PISSED and wanted to explode on tgd interviewer
@scottrobinson9334Man, if I'm feeling this uncomfortable while watching these interviews, i can only imagine how uncomfortable these actors feel.
@CherubimSateriasisVenomania14:56 lol i love how he just flat out admits it instead of just saying he did his research wrong
@JayVanz64Dude journalism is a professional career too! They need to stop treating it like a picnic with the gworls 💀✌️
Edit: 13:59 got an ad for lightworkers
Now it's totally understandable when Enhypen at Coachella were confused with the singing random guy singing at red carpets or celebrity environments. Because it IS weird. The thing is people criticize the victim (uncomfortable singers or actors) instead of the influencer
@promiseUstayI think a lot of times the influencer holding the interview thinks that audience is watching for THEM instead of the interviewee
@GooGoo2028❤
@paulrhyne4seeing even Pedro "also online" Pascal can't keep up with the internet memes in interviews hurts cause he's clearly expecting professionalism but has to code switch to internet speak
@JunkRatt1985It’s a shame that Vanessa is doing ridiculous things to her face….but they all go that way.
@James-b5l8ecinema
@hammerhead138As a recently graduated journalist this is the worst thing ever. I mean, one who studied during 4 years how to do research, create questions.... And even HOW to Interview...
It's so horrible... Because you're telling me I could have skipped literally studying, open a TikTok account and then wait to be viral?!
Yeah, no sir. The REAL journalism is dying 😢
What i dislike most now is that most interviews don't discuss the film. The stars just sit there and eat plates of food given to them and give their opinion on it
@Nathan-t1k7xC*nty/c*nt is said a lot here in America towards friends and as a compliment too lol. It just depends what generation you’re saying it to and of course the context. So it’s not an American vs Australian thing.
@sh3rocks0114:23 Genuinely, what can someone even say to that? Like, with media training on top WHAT ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO SAY
@idk_what_to_put_28And literally everyone gave Joseph Quinn shit for looking tired/uninterested and being “rude” in interviews like they aren’t asking him the same questions over and over again about Eddie Munson and Pedro Pascal…
@milaeluvsThe “daddy” term used by these Gen Z influencer reporters to grown ass adults with families is sickening
We all know that term originated from twisted porn search trends
You can see Pedro legit looks super uncomfortable being called this so constantly.
Okay WOW I've never heard of the C word being used friendly (even as an Australian)
@ThatCraftyCornerCinema
@nycpimp326Horrible ESG.
@MaketheL-i5iIs this a boomer sellout? Lmao she sounds like your annoying cousin who bitches about her own friends and cousins to make grandma like her
@EkkoWeaverPoor pedro 😢
@periwinkle1ove00i luv this sieries
@potato_championIn my opinion, influencers should have more knowledge and research about how to become a better communicator in those interviews. A sad reality is a majority of gen z use Tik Tok every day. And I was one of those who scroll every hour and I have to tell you that that platform gives me more anxiety and distracts than goods. I think instead of wasting times on TikTok or other social media, you can read a book or do something to invest in yourself.
@thimykimnguyen-k9oOh god, the secondhand embarrassment I feel watching the clips
@LiliGGG-u4h11:13 Sam Thompson is good at his job though. I agree with you in all aspects of this video, but Sam has come a long way since his Made in Chelsea days. He has presented many things In England, is a radio presenter and a has a long-running successful podcast. He’s also not 22 😂 This interview was probably cringe & I don’t doubt that, but I’m just saying he does usually do research and most British people love him.
@rachellvideosAm
@zenaidaandoy9802Cinema ☺
@paularocha9091I wanna see Cillian Murphy in such an dumb interview. His face would say it all so quickly :D :D
@DataFog-f3mcinema
@BellBouvierI couldn’t finish this video, it was that cringey 😂
@victorix30She really doesn’t like Haley Kalil lol
@Megan-p1s3:50 You can tell from her body language what she thought about that question.
@saldiven2009What do you mean inappropriate questions are nowhere near the same??? Back then it was tolerated and now for men theyre facing the same treatment.... It is EQUALLY AS BAD?? Gender doesnt make it better or worse
@gachathis4858I think to help stop this, the celebrities need to shut it down. ‘‘I’m not answering that, next question’’ ‘’ask me a real question’’ etc
@imjonathandude730This has been going on for at least a decade tho, remember when that flash movie came out years ago and all the nerd media wrote articles about how amazing his ass looked in that suit. Made me completely unintrested in that movie
@suckdickman6316Cinema.I have only really (for some reason) now thought to mention this but since I'm working on my own movie but I (mark my words) will NOT make trailers that spoil the climax and if I hear dumb Questions I'm kicking them out the same second
@Pufferfish_ProductionsCINEMA!!!
@Chaka2nd1... so many people in many countries studied Journalism/Mass Media/ Communication Studies, worked hard and many times UNPAID or UNDERPAID (at best), were forced to be more than perfect, and around the 2010's, something shifted so bad that... investigative journallism is dying, "chair journalism" is the norm (big mistake) and hiring "influencers" and "tik tokers" to interview celebrities and actors is the bloody norm, and alas, many people had to change careers because journalism is goddam dead. What. The. Hell. Happened. Here?! Shame on the big media groups for allowing this BS!
