Boomers are so invested in civic nationalism that they will see an Indian cardiologist and think nothing of it. Yeah good luck with that. My doctors and surgeons are all and will always be either White, Asian, or Jewish. India doesn't even have running water. Like I'm entrusting those brown clowns with my vital organs.

I'm 57, exercise regularly, and try to eat well. Regardless, two months ago I had a "ministroke" (aka transient ischemic attack). Suddenly I couldn't remember the name of US states, couldn't pronounce some longer words, and started walking awkwardly. I didn't know the stroke symptoms, so it was over three hours before I finally went to the emergency room for care. It turns out I have AFib. Fortunately, my speech and coordination returned to normal within a day of the attack and I've since had AFib ablation to address my AFib. All this to say, please learn the following stroke symptoms and get to an emergency room quickly if you have any of them to minimize your chance of having a worse attack: sudden facial drooping (especially on one side), arm weakness or numbness, speech difficulty (slurred, confused, or inability to speak), sudden severe headache with no known cause, vision loss or blurring in one or both eyes, and loss of balance or coordination.

A cardiologist murdered my sister this year. Insisted on surgery before she was over covid and while she had broken ribs healing .....had arrhythmia . The surgery took hours .. she bled after. Never woke. She ended up with dying organs and septic shock. I found later that is a situation that happens at that hospital frequently. They murdered her. They sent her to a different hospital, too late. She could not be saved. Bypass is not safe if your surgeon is an incompetent murderer.

How reliable is that max heart rate guideline? The reason I ask is that when I'm exercising I can push my heart rate well above this guideline.
For example today I was at the gym riding a stationary bike. I'm 58, so my max heart rate should be 162. I was at 173 . I can push it up higher to the mid 180's for short durations. On the flip side, my resting heart rate is in the low 50s

I'm 72. I've never had a stroke or a heart attack. However, when I was 64, my doctor said I need four stents. So, he implanted them. Then, when I was 68, my doctor said I need a triple bypass in spite of already having the four stents. So, I got the triple bypass. To this day, I've never experienced any issues related to my heart. No shortness of breath or chest pain. So, I'm assuming my stents and bypasses were pre-emptive in nature. Is it considered unusual to have stents AND a bypass operation?

I'm surprised a cardiologist is using the 220-age formula when it's been proven to be inaccurate. Also, as a distance runner, my resting HR is as low as 38 bpm and normally 42-45 bpm.

Greetings doctor so glad I came across your Q&A channel.
I eat very clean or best I can, organic and mostly plant based with really no desire for salt in my foods. I however been suffering with atherosclerosis for the past 24 yrs, yes it runs in my family. Had 2 stents in 05' quadruple bypass (CABG) in 19' and last month 1 stent in a born artery while the 4 bypassed arteries are all still open. This time I found out my arteries are very small. Could this be why I block so much? I sure would appreciate your reply.

The nomenclature for “cardiac arrest” is misleading. It implies that the heart is stopped (arrest means stop). The video indicates that Damar Hamlin was in “cardiac arrest” yet his heart was restarted. The video conflicts with this when it indicates a “stopped” heart cannot be restarted by a defibrillator. What gives?

Don't forget that women get back pain (I've heard patients describe it as flank or kidney pain) and heartburn that doesn't go away. Those symptoms are important! I got excited when you said it can be different but you dropped the ball

4:30 Someone close to me like that died. He was playing baseball and when the baseball hit his chest between a heart, he got up and said he can’t breathe. He collapsed and paramedics couldn’t rescue him. The pitcher who threw the ball went through trauma and felt responsible for it. He kept hitting his head on the wall on the hospital. 😢

Really fascinating how most professionals suggest a plant heavy diet for health. At this point it's a fundamental fact of longevity and not really up for any doubts or questions in my mind.

@segaGenesis24

I think everyone should know not to follow generalized advice. I used to drink zero sodium water and not a lot of salt. My blood pressure kept dropping and I had a lot of hospital visits. Then my Dr. asked me about my salt intake. After I told him, he told me to drink water that has sodium and to increase my salt intake in general. My blood pressure hasn’t been dropping since 🙏🏻

Wish doctors would stop propagating the plant based heart health myth without providing evidence (they can't, it doesn't exist)

Sloppy caption writing. "Which" and not "what". Thanks for the explanations. We need more doctors like Raa to counter all the snake oil salesmen prowling the internet preying on gullible or ignorant people.
