One of my favorite lines of this movie. It just shows how over their head and outmatched our defense was in this situation and just makes you root for us harder

Given it's the 4th of July today, it's tradition to watch clips of this movie if you can't watch the whole thing. This still holds up imo, doesn't need super well done CGI or high tier acting, this was just cheesy popcorn summer blockbuster fun.
@bluezilla2547Wow. Today is this movie’s 30th anniversary!
@lanceleader163When those alien ships attacked the base, it's like Pearl Harbor but with aliens
@jermainesimmons29446:35: “Friendly, SARGENT???? I don’t think so..…”
Not something you want to hear when hostile alien spacecraft with shields against your defenses is coming your direction.
You gotta think that they wear those biomechanical suits and the shinier little fella is how those aliens really look.
And they fly their small attackers in those things.
I can't drive a car while wearing my puffy winter coat!
0:45 when me and my homie show up to the job site.
@thejakefortFew Days Later: Eagle Leader: President Thomas Whitmore Leads the Final Battle
@robzap20nintendosteampictureswhy don't we get movies like these anymore...
@oldsoul4699Yeah no, you can actually launch missiles from ground batteries and surface-based mobile launch platforms without having to risk experienced pilots against an enemy who have already demonstrated technological superiority. This was a slaughter that didn't need to be.
@dars5229Why ain't you stumped by Michael Jordan ≈ 30 years
≡30 years total
Age 10: "damn, Russell's death was really meaningful" Age 40: "damn, Jimmy's death is unbearable"
@taotaozhang45682:48 That's a Harpoon. Not an AMRAAM. That is by far the most common inconsistency in this movie and about the only thing that bugs me.
@synthwavecat96The parachute landing kills me every time lmao
@llNATEDOGGlli remember watching it in the cinema, every single seat was occupied, people from the very front row seats just left their seats and set at the stair for the better view of the movie
@foonyychan477Them 2 walking to their jets was badass
@FEDNET424Parachute landing, limp dog, absorb the ground
@maxstorm44518now that... is a real parachute landing fall...
@volairenFirst Battle.
Test subjects so to gather intel on an Unknown technology advanced enemy

@Hambone1-h9pSpaceship opens up to discover an alien for the first time... Yeets him right in the noggin with no hesitation and says "Welcome to Earth".

@adamsjay212One thing to say about this movie. The soundtrack and the music production is possibly the greatest in cinema history. The full range of emotions come through the score. Fantastic.
@caezar55That's the sound of both his legs breaking
@saltymedic85the macroscopic error in the full battlescenes is that pilots never use they callsign. it is simply inconceible.
