Given it's the 4th of July today, it's tradition to watch clips of this movie if you can't watch the whole thing. This still holds up imo, doesn't need super well done CGI or high tier acting, this was just cheesy popcorn summer blockbuster fun.

Yeah no, you can actually launch missiles from ground batteries and surface-based mobile launch platforms without having to risk experienced pilots against an enemy who have already demonstrated technological superiority. This was a slaughter that didn't need to be.

One thing to say about this movie. The soundtrack and the music production is possibly the greatest in cinema history. The full range of emotions come through the score. Fantastic.

the macroscopic error in the full battlescenes is that pilots never use they callsign. it is simply inconceible.
