Wonderful video! Thanks! I was going to spend a week in Cadiz and then a month in Jerez de la Frontera, but now you made me change my plans: one month in Cadiz and a week in Jerez. Can you tell me what Cadiz is like in mid-December through to the end of January. Would you recommend visiting then? I like cool weather and am avoiding a Canadian winter. Is Jerez, because it is inland, better during that time. Is Cadiz too windy, and rainy? I appreciate any info.

Tip, check what cruise liners are in before you visit. Get it wrong and the centre is packed with tourists & if they are from the all inclusive ships then the cheapskates will pack out every bar taking chairs & nursing a small beer for 2 hours. 😁👍

Often overlooked in favour of Seville, Malaga and Granada, Cadiz is one of Spain's most underrated destinations. Surrounded almost entirely by the Atlantic Ocean, it combines more than 3,000 years of history with a relaxed coastal lifestyle, colourful neighbourhoods, golden beaches and one of the most unique atmospheres you'll find anywhere in Spain.
Our journey begins in the heart of the historic old town, where we wander through its maze of narrow streets, lively squares and elegant architecture while uncovering the fascinating history that has shaped Cadiz over the centuries. We visit the magnificent Cadiz Cathedral before climbing to the top of its tower for breathtaking panoramic views across the city, the Atlantic Ocean and the Costa de la Luz.
I was in Cadiz just in late May for a week and it was amazing, the pace of life is very chill, and the people were so friendly, it was the first place in Spain I've been to where people would actually make the effort to help me with my Spanish when I interacted with them with my mediocre Spanish. One of my favourite food spots was the curios Bocatería Los Patios, difficult to find but a quirky experience!
Along the way we explore many of Cadiz's most famous landmarks, including Plaza de España, where we learn about Spain's historic Constitution of 1812, the beautiful Alameda Apodaca with its palm-lined promenades, the peaceful Parque Genoves and several spectacular viewpoints that showcase why Cadiz is considered one of Spain's most beautiful coastal cities.
No trip to Cadiz is complete without experiencing its incredible coastline. We visit the iconic La Caleta Beach, one of the city's most photographed landmarks, along with Playa Santa Maria del Mar and Playa de la Victoria, regularly ranked among Spain's best urban beaches.
Very appealing. I would jump at the opportunity to spend time here.
Of course, we also enjoy some of the delicious local food that makes Cadiz such a fantastic destination for food lovers. Fresh seafood, local specialities and traditional Andalusian flavours are all part of what makes visiting Cadiz such an unforgettable experience.

I have tears. Love Cadiz. Packed with amazing history, architecture, beautiful beaches and fantastic people. I'll never forget being in a tiny old bar after the carnival rehearsals with the locals and an older man who was totally amazed that I'd come from the other side of the world to visit his city. Julián! It’s so beautiful. You would really be surprised by how much Puerto Rico also resembles Cadiz and Tenerife … especially Viejo San Juan, Mira Mar and Santurce. It’s like a mini version with pockets of Miami like modernism. You two should come sometime! There are direct flights now from Madrid. Thinking of moving to Spain and Cadiz would be top of the list is it was a bit more directly connected to Madrid but Malaga and Alicante are battling it out for that spot now. Love Costa del Sol but want to go back and give the Costa Blanca a look. Your videos definitely stirred up more curiosity!
