@franciscamaciel4121It is not safe to build a shelter on the root side of a downed tree. If for any reason the tree should become bottom heavy, it will fall back in place, crushing anyone under it. I have seen a demonstration of this more than once. It is very frightening! Bushcrafing 101!!
