The Spurs team identity is come out hot and demoralize the opponent by jumping out to a lead. Knicks' identity is to get stronger as the game goes on, be mentally tough, chip away and never quit or get down on themselves. The Spurs played their game , and the Knicks did the same. The Knicks' game was just better. Wemby talking like this went 7. Let's not forget that this was a 5 game series. Knicks in 5. Say what you want about each individual game but a 5 game series is not a competitive series. One team is clearly better off the series only goes 5.
On top of this, Wimpy wouldn't shake hands after the buzzer,. So the rest of the Spurs followed his lead except for one player who knew better.

9:45 the big difference being nobody had the Lebron and the Cavs winning that series. Lebron James took what was basically a G league team all the way to the NBA Finals and they lost to a Spurs team that was in their prime. Everyone had Victor and The Spurs winning this series against the Knicks and they completely collapsed like no team I'd ever seen in the NBA Finals. Also, after Lebron got swept in that series, he had the decency and respect to go up to the Spurs and shake their hands, true sportsmanship. Something that Victor and all the Spurs (minus Luke Kornet) couldn't bring themselves to do. No class.

It does not matter if you dominated the race, you still lost to a superior opponent. NBA games are 48 minutes long, not 36. Series are best of seven, not best of one play. @Tear131161:20 was a flagrant 1 on Wenby. It was ignored because if they make that call Wemby is out for game 6 and the series is over. Just another example of how the refs protected Wemby throughout this series. Remember the Flagrant push on Jalen Brunson earlier in the series. No call. Refs swallowed their whistles on that play also. Despite the one-eyed refs trying to extend the series Knicks take it in 5 games. remarkable and well deserved. They have been on a mission the entire playoffs.

@YaBoiDMagicThis Wemby kid could be special, but he lacks so much maturity. He still believes they completely dominated the Knicks when in reality, the Knicks took advantage of the Spurs and knew when to do so. He needs to see that first before he’s able to take the next step forward.
With that being said, his dirty play is going to retaliated against and if he’s not careful, it could shorten his promising career. I didn’t like how he handled things, but then again, he’s only 22.
All of that to say, I am a thankful and grateful Knicks fan.
Only Harper showed up for the Spurs on offense. Wemby exhausted after playing one of the most dominant one man D I have seen since Hakeem…. (In the first half) So not much to show for on scoresheet. They needed to be up 20+ at first half to have a chance.
