Boxer Dog - Full History

Video Overview & Insights

The Boxer might be known for its playful antics and bouncy energy, but behind those expressive eyes and strong physique lies a history rich with bravery, loyalty, and noble purpose. From guarding ancient hunting estates to standing beside soldiers in wartime, the Boxer’s story is one of strength, resilience, and endless devotion.

Have two Boxers now.....
They're Big Goofs.

🐶 Did you know that Boxers were originally bred in Germany as powerful working dogs, descended from ancient hunting breeds used to take down big game like boar and bear? With their muscular build, alert minds, and unshakable loyalty, Boxers quickly became prized for both protection and companionship. Over time, they’ve evolved from fierce hunters and war dogs to gentle family guardians and loving goofballs with a heart of gold.

In this video, we’ll uncover the fascinating journey of the Boxer—how this breed got its name, its transformation through the 19th and 20th centuries, and why it remains one of the most cherished dogs around the world. We’ll also take a look at their signature traits, from their square jaw and strong stance to that famously silly, clownish personality that makes them unforgettable.

LOL......
Boxers these days are Big Baby's.
Although they still have a bit of the Wild in Em.
My male Boxer swam the river and brought back a goat in his jaws.
Had to pay for the goat.
Told the Guy to please not shoot him and I'd pay for any goats He may kill.

0:00 Intro

The boxer is a Working Group dog. My favorite description of a boxers "job" was the woman announcer at the Westminster Dog Show about 5 or 6 years ago: when asked why boxers are in the Working Group and what exactly their job is she answered "boxers job is to play and have fun, they work really hard at playing and being silly"... to that I say YES, they are professionals at that!!! 😂❤❤❤❤😂😊😊😊

2:52 The Boxer’s Unique Name

The cross breeding was done one time really. But amongst all bulldog breeders. The dog that started it was an all white English bulldog that was a champion bullfighter that went to Germany and Austria. He became super famous and won the national hearts of people by winning every single bull baiting competition. He was bred to every native female creating a huge step child family over a decade of breeding

The German bullenbiesser was very well known for being great with children. That's why both of the ancestors of the bullenbiesser are known for their own good behavior with kids ..... Great Danes and boxers both have the shared ancestry and similar look and behavior.

Please remove the thumbnail for this video. You probably used AI to generate it and instead of a boxer you've got something like a pit bull. The overall quality is so poor, you might as well remove the whole video

The perfect breed, but after having one for 12 years, I don't know why someone said they are guard dogs at all, haha. They are afraid of their own shadow
