Body Language Expert Explains How to Show Confidence | WIRED

Video Overview & Insights

Former FBI agent and body language expert Joe Navarro explains how we can project confidence through our body language. Joe takes a look at various celebrities and politicians and demonstrates the things that they do that can help them appear more confident.

really nice video, the content feels smooth and keeps the viewer interested till the end

Fascinating breakdown of nonverbal cues. Here's the thing most people overlook — confident body language without confident writing creates a disconnect in professional settings. BeLikeNative is a Chrome extension I use that paraphrases text with keyboard shortcuts. When your emails and presentations sound as confident as your posture looks, people trust you completely.

It's so funny and embarrassing how people today try to project confident body language and are insecure. Some people buy it, they're not that intelligent, but there are sensitive people who pick up on it and it's ridiculous.
There's no connection between how you sit and walk and how confident you are on the inside. It's all a mask on the outside, and it's precisely this quietness that doesn't try to force itself to prove itself confident because it really doesn't care about projecting self-confidence or vulnerability.
It's just alive - that's real self-confidence!

It is so sad to me that very evil deceiptful people corrupt, people who have brought our world down rather than making it better can walk out etc like they are amazing individuals. When they should have their heads down with repentant hearts towards the Lord. And just be so ashamed of all their poor behaviors. Their poor role modeling.
Regarding Powell, I don’t know anything about him, I would not think twice walking past him somewhere.

I think really have to earn respect in different ways of course and then u really admire someone when they walk out and I don’t think at that point that I even care how they walk out cuz I admire them so much already.

ABOUT WIRED

WIRED is where tomorrow is realized. Through thought-provoking stories and videos, WIRED explores the future of business, innovation, and culture.

So.. could you not sum this video up in " Fake it 'till you make it"? I heard something that makes so much sense which is "Fake it till you make it but you need results too." If you don't have results then your just a poser pretending to confident which society hates those types.

2:14 I prefer the rulers of my country to behave in this type of scenario-based manner, as if they are marching because it gives me a sense of security and statehood. They remind me of the communist times when my country was sovereign.

none of it matters if what you are saying does not bring much to the table. confidence is like the cover of a book. It's like a cheap trick. Anyone can appear to be confident but once you dive into the contents of the first page you'll know right away, and what's worse is that you trust them even less than if they had not been confident because now you perceive them as attempting to have fooled you into wanting to think they are confident. You shouldn't neglect body language but if you hone your craft then the confidence will show by itself.

Using Colin Powell as confident is a bit unlucky. That guy was confident that there WMDs in Iraq. There weren't any.

Body language is pseudoscience
It's not based on scientific fact. & it's very ableist towards neurotypical people. Body language doesn't exist cuz we created the idea how everyone should behave into a society what is seen as normal. Which is very ableist & it needs to stop
