Blasting down bad track Doubleheader on the ND&W Railway (Maumee and Western)

Video Overview & Insights

PREX 1603 leading PREX 3054 blasts down the former Wabash Railroad's 5th District! Lol actually I condensed 6 minutes of the train crawling down the track! This is only the third time I've gotten a pair on one of their trains so I was pleased to see them. The line was most recently the Maumee and Western Railroad (MAW) before being purchased by Pioneer RailCorp. Maintenance was deferred for decades on this stretch of track. Pioneer has done a great job rehabbing the worst parts but some pockets like this still exist.

Who is the Morons that assigned that Train to that track.

I just wonder how many times you dumped in your jeans as it came at you.

I don't know where this is but in California this would not be happening, even in the yard that would not happen, say what you want about California, that is not going to happen

Merica at its greatest, these tracks are a great example/metaphor for the state our country is in with the owners who've been running it , what a fine country we live in ! SMH

I live in a Hub city. Thank God they have been doing track repairs.

@kristinebell3934

How is that even possible for the train to move over and not get derailed

Some dumbass looked at this and said:

"We make BILLIONS of dollars a year using this track. But we can eek out a few million more by having the engineers drive over it slowly rather than paying money to fix it."

In China, someone would be publicly executed for this embarrassment of a track for even allowing it to get into such a state.

These aren’t tracks, these are waggle tails.

@RealConstructor

I would not. Not until that is fixed. I wouldn't even want to be a passenger on that train. Kudos to the driver for doing it and succeeding.

This is the best AI to date .. it's about time them data centers get it right

this track must be refurbished !

@AGU200
@

That is the worst track I’ve ever seen with a train on it. Those rails are shined.

@johnkeviljr9625
@

Terribly maintained line. But, if the rail was stiff and not able to fluxuate it could break and cause a derailment. Nice video 🤠

@ozcover7254

Errrrrr WHY FFS. ??
In the UK the rail line would be properly maintained.
Has America turned into India overnight.
And BTW that's an insult to India.

@THE-ESOTERIC-ENVOY

Tracks like this in the richest country in the world, WTF? Shame on you America.

Tram tracks in Charkov are in fantastic shape compared to this.

@Kilud
@

Have the railroad companies been informed of this? If not, then WHY NOT!?

@Daveat23
@

Well since there were only 8 cars I can bet you that was a short run. What state is this in? Maybe it was an old rail line that rarely gets used. I don't know but i do agree those tracks look horrible.

@1djloop

I would ditch that train off the track to force them to build a new one

They failed basic physics class

@SpaceSVK

"I'm going to need the hobos to move to the right side of the train. Right side of the train please. Any hobos.".

HOW......Like for real?!?!?! How did that even work?!?!

@KYClay9337
@

The driver needs to get danger money on that sorry excuse for a railway line.

@MarkLindsay-h4z

Bad maintenance bad inspection practices and definitely bad judgement on the conductor and engineer to proceed through that track. Where’s the empowerment to say no ? Wheres the maintenance gang or crew ?Where’s the FRA and what the hell is that inspector doing?

@Tony-i3q5s
@

They'll fix it just after there's a derailment and someone gets killed. That's the only way to get things fixed these days. Of course, those in charged will act shocked and surprised.

@YourHineyness
@

Because of foreshortening the track looks worse than it is.
However the track is of course bad and dangerous.

Watch this video on 2x speed. OMG

@pjyast

This is actually insane. How are trains not derailed here?

@McGriddleBuns
@

sad state America's roads, bridges etc are in and have been for decades.

@pappystubs
@

How does a track get that warped? Lack of maintenance? Ground shifting? Bad welding/steel? Odd to see.

@generalnonsense1243
@

Why is the track liquid?

@NoNilolsos
@

It looked like lightning bolts. How is that just left like that? It’s not a long stretch of track to fix eh?
