when I use dating apps, I like a few profiles. the first guy that bothers and i like him back, i arrange a meet up in about 2 days. then I stop messaging but only focus on them (in real time). I don't speak to loads of people at once

It's interesting how many commenters with little relevant education are certain their preconceived biases are right and someone with this presenters background is wrong. That's love I guess...

I disagree with a lot of what she said.
* If you're first dating, I would start by trying to see the bad in people. There are so many people out there, that it will be hard to find a truly great match with a low number of exposures to different people. You should try to get exposure to as many as possible. Once you find a good fit, that is when you should focus on the positive, but if you start off by identifying a bunch of compromises you'll have to make then you will just find more later on and it will feel like too much over time
* It is impossible to cheat on someone if you truly love them. Love and cheating are incompatible. If you love someone then you never have to choose not to cheat on someone because it wouldn't be an option in the first place.

I have always liked what Dr Helen Fisher has to say. I have been aware of her for a few decades. She has been featured on science television shows well before Youtube and such on the internet were in existence.
On this video I find it very interesting at 6:02 when she talks about the characteristics of the testosterone based hormone system (women have some testosterone also, just not as much): they are analytical, logical, direct, decisive, good at STEM fields, and music- music is very structural. And they are attracted to opposite hormone types rather than like their own. Some of those other hormone types are attracted to the same type she said just prior.
Fascinating (as Spock would say). Much of this hormone category characteristics helps explain so many things in human interactions.

For instance in a heterosexual relationship, when a woman goes on talking about a problem they're facing, and on and on, men eventually want to offer possible solutions to that problem or situation. And then the woman may get upset saying why can't you just listen? Because when men care about you and you're troubled, they want to help. Men are wired to solve problems and fix things, that's what we do.
If a woman just wants to vent her emotions, that is what female friends or relatives are for. And even then they might eventually offer advice. If you want no feedback, vent to your pet, a dog or cat. They won't try and solve or give you feedback.
