The scale of Leyte Gulf is just staggering â aircraft carriers, battleships, kamikaze attacks all converging in one massive, chaotic clash. Watching it unfold in Battle 360 brings a whole new appreciation for the strategy, sacrifice, and sheer intensity of naval warfare at its peak.

An uncle I never met was killed on the USS SUWANEE by a kamikaze in this battle.

So sad to see everything this generation of Americans fought and died for, Americans now, in their utter lack of understanding of history, are voting away gleefully without a care in the world. Ashamed to be an American in 2025.

The biggest navy battle happened in my country
@RoyArancon-oq1lhJon parshall is

Still Watching 12/22/24 đ”đđșđž
@jelynmerida282If it wasn't for this battle, i wouldn't exist
@JhenniferLynnMartinezThis is awesome. When the history channel was actually about History!
@getjoshnowThis video is misleading. Jutland was the largest ever Naval Battle and it was WW1 with no American involvement. It was between the Germans and the British.
Leyte Gulf was the largest Naval action but it wasn't a single battle.
My cousin graduated in leyte
@whonieMy grandfather fought in this battle, he got blown up by a torpedo hitting the side of the ship he was on and developed a shaky hand all the way up until his passing at the fantastic age of 97.
@mrpucklepops4447I was there and saw everything live on my canoe. It was incredible!
@AsiansxsymbolMy grand father is a WW2 US veteran he changed his surname in order to protect our family from Japanese soldiers. đâ€
@ceejaymelad8879Utter rubbish. The biggest naval battle was the Battle of the Atlantic. In terms of tonnage, ships involved, casualties, nations involved, everything, the BOTA makes Leyte Gulf look like a kindergarten quarrel.
@richardcaves3601Last sentence is wrong. Largest naval battle by far was the Battle of Jutland (Skagerakschlacht) in WWI
@TammoSeppeltBoth the Germans and the Japanese added to their gross criminality by not surrendering when they had no further real chance of victory.
@stylembonkers1094My father's carrier the Bataan was there. He never said much about it.
@jeffmachul9562The uss north carolina needs help, she is dieing. The uss nc needs to be floating. She helped us win a few wars
@soughtproduct79_15As a Filipino, i did not knew that almost all of the land here in Samar and Leyte were covered with coconut trees. Also, amazingly, that late former Pres. Osmeña had establish a new cabinet in Leyte. Although i live in Northern Samar, not Leyte, the place was an interesting place of the history of WW2 in the Philippines.
@johnofstnorbert1825Japan had very disciplined and bright soldiers & their plan of attack was always complex & well thought out. I hate to use that old cleshe but they were playing chess on the checkers board...
But... wth was their plan for pearl harbor? Just blow up Hawaii and then just chill? đź
Yamato
greatest battleship â
Perfect target practice for naval planesâ
Yes. Yamato was the biggest ship of her time but it was greatly inferior to that of the iowa-class battleship which had more accurate guns quicker reloads and or muzzle velocity which means more damage better radar
@landonmorgan8602The and 2090 2080 totally life so foor destroy desasters ww3
@donnaborinagaensiojrdonnab50102015 2023 revulsion
@donnaborinagaensiojrdonnab5010I remember watching these shows when I was a kid . I didnât care about cartoons or anything like that. Now Im on my way to MEPS and hopefully become a sailor.
@christophercamas6214The Japanese soldier wanted to die for the emperor, thinking he is a God, the American soldier wanted to come home alive
@RacerX1971I remember watching these shows when I was like 10 with Dad. By far the best way to visualize what was going on in ww2. We would record every episode and watch them when he came from work. Very cool and I wish they brought it back
@JVC4783Yamato,Musashi,USS iowa,Bismark 4 of the best warships ever.
@MdAlinwazKhanI wonder what if submarine excursions to the Leyte Gulf was a real thing...
@ottaviobasquesA battleship is no much with an aircraft carrier, before the battleship could hit an aircraft carrier with its powerful guns, the carrier's bees are already around it.
@francusboa501needs more megalodon
@VanitycraftI've always been IMPRESSED with the Pair of Yamato battleships; the Musashi & the Yamato. They were the LARGEST Battleships EVER Produced. I've owned one of the LARGEST Plastic kit models of these ships in 1/250 scale with some Extra Cool goodies such as: Metal barrel guns, metal propellers, and a Laser-ecthed real wood adhesive main deck.....Just Way Cool!! But here's the REAL Takeaway; building these 2 Literal monster's by the Japanese Naval Command was a Complete Waste of Money, Materiel, & Manpower. They were BOTH SUNK inside of their 5 year build dates by Carrier based US Naval warplanes!!! Any & All of their Massive armour could not withstand the Aerial bombardment nor the Torpedo strikes that they were Subjected too. So, all-in-all, because of just how Valuable they were to the Japanese Admiralty, both ships were primarily KEPT OUT OF MOST ACTION to "Preserve & Protect" them!! But in the end they were BOTH found and Destroyed. Hitler took the same attitude towards Bismarck's sister ship, the Tirpitz.....but she was also sunk...at her ANCHORAGE!!
@redginaldsanders6122How big is the canon
@jasoneugene1592I wish they make movies on this
@agar2134if only the battleships had lasers proximity fuses and radar. and guided missiles. and tomahawks.
@jarrodyuki7081I'm the 500th comment!
@gwapoaldrean1454Yamato and musashi
Shows the model of yamato for both of them
My Uncle, U W Todd was a Pvt in the Armies 38th infantry Div . He had served in New Guinea and he was sent to Leyte Gulf as a follow on wave of infantry. He won a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. The later cost him his life.
He was on a ship in Leyte Gulf on December 10th 1944 when the first organized, purposeful Kamikaze attack of WWII was launched against US force. His ship was hit and he was burned horribly. He died three days later and was buried at sea. I know he won a Bronze Star but donât know why. many of his records burned in the early 70âs in the fire in (I think -St. Louis).
I never met him. It is terrifying to think of how he died though doubtless he was administered huge quantities of morphine- there was nothing else to be done. I remember him always but especially on Memorial Day
Yamato and Mushashi were big yes.
But I bet toe to toe with two Iowas?
They have 50/50 chance of being sunk.
Gen.Douglas Mac Arthur I Shall Return
@nenitaagos9097no wonder why yamato was found in phillipines
@paperhead3946im in the pilapins
@ma.rowenaannevillanueva2358Largest naval battle in History!
