What is the best gold to stack? In this video I rank my Top 10 gold coins! I break down each 1-ounce gold coin (not fractional gold) and rank my gold coins in order of my stacking preference. I’ll also tell you what gold coins are not good for stacking and are more of a target for gold collectors due to their high premiums. I also show you one gold coin I just bought from SD Bullion that I’m pumped to unbox. It’s NOT a good gold stacking item but is so beautiful and meaningful I just had to buy it as a collector item. The 10 gold coins I review are the South African Gold Krugerrand, American $20 Gold Liberty, British Gold Britannia, Chinese Gold Panda, Austrian Gold Philharmonic, American Gold Buffalo, Mexican Gold Libertad, Canadian Gold Maple Leaf, American Gold Eagle, and Australian Gold Kangaroo. There are clearly more than 10 types of gold coins from various mints around the world, and a whole host of commemorative gold coins as well. I'm fairly new to stacking. I started my journey focusing on gold first. I stack gold ( sovereign and generic) with american representation. Example would be a fractional gold mercury round . Money Metals Exchange is my main go to for metals. I can't believe I didn't start this earlier in my life, it feels amazing to change my dollars into real money.

I love Maple Leafs but I stopped buying them when Canada started seizing its Citizens bank accounts to stop the Truck Driver rally. That put Canada in the same repressive category as China in my book!

I am only lucky enough to have a few 1oz gold coins. Two are pre-33. One $20 Lib and one St Gaudens. Then of course for my third 1oz purchase I HAD to buy my absolute fav. The Gold Buffalo. Sooooo sexy!
Beyond that, I filled one tube of 1/10oz AGE’s. After that, and from now on, I’m a 1/4oz AGE stacker. Nothing else! Perfect fractional size to sell someday when gold is $10k/oz… regarding the GSR, I never sell but buy both G&S at 60:1

Mexican gold coins will always be the number one besides being purist by a certain year they are the number one gold coin and first gold coin in the world to be put on paper and also based on Mexican's ancient history.. you can go anywhere around the world with a centinela gold coin and no one will argue with you... If you're a true gold coin collector, you would know

I disagree with your rankings strongly. All that really matters is how much a premium you pay when buying, and how close to spot you get when selling. I would rank them
10. Chinese Panda, its from China, nothing more to say
9. Libertad. This isn't actually a coin despite common belief that it is. It's really a round. Actual coins have a face value of some kind, this does not
8. Gold Buffalo. I do not understand the popularity of this coin. Extremely high premiums when buying, and won't make up the difference when selling vs other coins with lower premiums
7. Krugerand. These are always on sale at or near spot. Must be very difficult to resell for a good price.
6. Kangaroo. Why, just why?
5. Philharmonic. Low premium, unique coin with music theme. Fair resell value
4. Brittania. Nice coin, usually low premium when buying.
3. Liberty Head. Iconic historic coin. In good condition can hold numismatic value above the gold value. This alone makes it desirable. I disagree with going for culls, go for ms64 (or ungraded but look nice)
2. American Eagle. The standard for collecting. Can buy with reasonable premium and good value when reselling. Much better than buffalo. Also more durable as its 22k and weight 33.9g vs 24k and 31.1g
1. Maple Leaf. .9999 fine Low premium when buying, can sell at spot no problem. Yeah its from Canada but lets not hold that against the coin.

@JohnSmith-yi2ujIn the US, the 4 best coins (IMO) to pick for staking / investment are: 1oz gold Buff, 1oz gold Eagle, 1oz Canadian Maple, or 1oz gold Britannia.
In the UK, it only makes sense to get the VAT and CGT free bullion coins (the gold Britannia and gold Sovereign)

@rustysreality1091What is this insane hatred of HM the Queen? There is nothing whatsoever that was controversial about Queen Elizabeth II, God rest her soul. I served her for more than 40 years in two different armies. She was never anything but hard-working and proper. I'll take her against any politician anywhere, any time. At least we always knew she cared for her subjects, of whom I was proud to be one. This is more than I can say of any politician since Winston Churchill.

@rojalirojali6162#1 for me, is the 1oz gold Britannia (post 2021). Premiums are as low as they go (sub 3% for single coins), are 24 karat gold, have the security features, and are just beautiful. I have no problem with Queen Elizabeth II or Charles III on them. If you live in the UK, there is no reason to get anything else since they are CGT free (and the gold Sovereign). I generally agree with your rankings overall.
