💬 Comment below: Which country would you choose to retire in?
0:53 #17 Fiji
Wasn’t clear whether the living costs were for one or a couple.
1:51 #16 Mauritius
2:44 #15 Malta
this is better recommendation for English speaking seniors :) & definitely no Muslim countries & cities overcrowded with China immigrants!
3:41 #14 South Africa
4:32 #13 India (Goa & Kerala)
You forgot to mention north Yorkshire and Whitby fish and chips.
5:23 #12 Bahamas
6:17 #11 Portugal
Jamaica is crime-ridden and Malaysia also has a high level of break-ins and home invasions in residential areas.
7:14 #10 Ireland
8:29 #9 Belize
There is no retirement visa in Singapore.
9:29 #8 Cyprus
10:27 #7 Malaysia
South Africa ?? Give me a break!!! It is one of the most corrupt crime riddled countries on the planet. Their cleptocratic socialist & racist black government may want your tourist dollars but, if your skin color is white, dont even think of trying to live there. Just goes to show how badly informed this video is. Shocking.
11:21 #6 Philippines
12:18 #5 Jamaica
South Africa - when you want to die, but aren't a "do-it-yourself" type.
13:17 #4 Saint Lucia
14:11 #3 Barbados
Belize offer mosquitoes.
15:04 #2 Singapore
16:03 #1 Gibraltar
Et les pays où on parle français tous les jours ?

I started watching this channel recently and realized the content making is completely immature and not based on study or facts! I have been in Singapore and know very well that living cost is more than in USA and healthcare is expensive so older people forced to work hourly jobs! Also I was in St Lucia and nothing in video is true! So it is just a video to get attention not based on facts!!!!

What is included in this price? Food? Internet? Transportation? Car insurance? Electric? Water? A house? A boat? Car repairs? I need a break down on these prices prices
@nathanpellman3600Portugal 🙄
$2800 will give you a 1 bedroom in Lisbon. If you want to lige for $2800 'comfortably', maybe consider Paraguay.
Portugal urban areas = nothing less than $5000
How can all these places be sooo expensive ? Is the prices covering a mansion with full stafff or something ?
I live in my own little 500 ft2 all expenses and living cost including morgage, a car and healthcare for 2500- 2800 USD a month in Copenhagen, Denmark 😮
Sri lanka was a British colony

Ridiculous video. South Africa? 😂
@markfulwiler8532Jamaica ? no thanks.
@toddmurray6596It all sounds to good to be true. Cheap doesn't matter if one fails to address tax liabilities of the host nation and US
@corneliskeus6976Throw South Chicago in there.
@dallasball6624This whole video is complete garbage.
@dallasball6624BS on South Africa. Super high crime
@dallasball6624Of course Malta feels like Europe. Malta is a part of Europe. European Union member since 2007, Euro area member since 2008, Schengen area member since 2007. Malta is Europe!
@Nils_MartinGoa was the largest piece of the former Portuguese India, illegally seized by India in December, 1961.
@nztrekkerMy Fathers cousin, his Fathers Brothers son emigrated to South Africa from Central Europe. When he visited us in the US he said Women typically carried pistols in their stockings. This was the 70s when it was 'good' i cant imagine what it is like now! SA: Never!
@SK-qc6fbGetting residency in Gibraltar is almost impossible. Just thought you'd want to know.
@LeLough22The gov of Canada has a travel warning in 2026 for tourists going to Belize due to the high rate of violent crime! This makes me doubt everything you have listed.
@keneaton2855Useless propaganda style video-don’t waste your time unless you like to LOOK at pretty videos and remain ignorant!👎👎👎stop wasting our time lazy NONCREATOR!!!🤡🤡🤡
@lindabuck2777India doesn't offer retirement visas but if from uk you can stay up the 6 months on a tourist visa. I go from nov to end April to goa when weather is lovely. May to Oct too hot or raining. 😅
@sandicam"Climate change poses an existential threat to Fiji, primarily through sea-level rise, intensified tropical cyclones, and severe economic disruption. With sea levels projected to rise around 68 cm by 2100, coastal erosion and flooding threaten to displace communities, while rising ocean temperatures cause coral bleaching and threaten food security."
@izzytoonsSouth Africa - you'll save on electricity because there isn't any
@markpy1883Did you learning a new language is one of best brain health things you can to to stay sharp in your senior years?
@jacquesrosas5758S.A. Is not a good recommendation. Not safe. Runaway crime. Do you want to live like a prisoner? Political instability. Far from inexpensive. Very expensive health care. Regular electricity outages. No thanks
@Shofar2024For me Ireland is the only place on this list.
@JWithrow-r9sInteresting...I think I'll stay in NE Florida on the Atlantic coast for under 2K per month! But this gives me some potential travel destinations to check out!!
@markhart4007Here are a few others that actually make more sense than some on this list:
Namibia
St. Helena
New Zealand
Sri Lanka
Cayman Islands
The British Virgin Islands
🤔 17 is something of a stretch for many financially challenged US ''wanna be expats'' ? Truthfully only a few are both desirable and affordable for lower incomes. ( ? ) 😥
@KB3TLEYou should add the negatives for each country. Many have many natural disasters: St. Lucia, Phillipines, Bahamas. Some countries might not want you there, some have bad climates...Malaysia: brutally hot.
@Susat-d1vWhat about British Islands?
@Susat-d1vyour cost of living numbers seem high...i can live in the usa for less than many of the numbers you quoted
@RD-fz5nsWeather (esp. humidity) ? Crime/safety? Access to medical care? Access to transport (e.g. airports) and where do flights go? Tax?
@AuJohnMJamaica, "when you get off the plane, you can feel the hate..."
@johnthepilgrimI guess this video pays absolutely NO attention to whether or not the country offers Long Stay visas to non- EU citizens (Ireland).
@johnthepilgrimYou've clearly never been to the Philippines. How can you say good infrastructure when power outages are the norm rather than the exception and flooding is a part of daily life ?Healthcare in Manila and Cebu are fine but beyond that, it's Hit or Miss at best. Two islands out of 7,000 doesn't qualify as good health care.
@Rob-says-hello-worldthe seven cheapest countries to retire to in 2026 (from least expensive to most “gold standard”) are:
Paraguay – extremely low cost of living ($800–$1,000/month)
Montenegro – affordable European option if you buy property (~$60,000), giving a temporary residence permit; stable but requires navigating bureaucracy.
Uruguay – safe and stable with a rentista visa; slower bureaucracy, requires patience and some savings to bridge income requirements.
Greece – villages on the mainland can be cheap; requires proving solvency (€2,000/month nominally, but savings can supplement); lifestyle affordable once residency is obtained.
Philippines – English-speaking, American-friendly, pensioners can qualify for the SRRV visa with a $10,000–$20,000 deposit; good infrastructure, healthcare, and community.
Costa Rica – established Pensionado program; $1,000/month income requirement, but mandatory contributions to Costa Rican social security (KJA tax) reduce spendable income.
Panama – “gold standard” for retirees; Pensionado visa grants permanent residency, legal discounts, and allows $1,200 Social Security to go far without upfront deposits or property purchase.
Also, Albania, Georgia.
Oman, safe, beautiful, friendly, politically stable and English speaking. Close to major airport hubs for around the world travel.
@nondompomLived in Belize crime was though the roof. Knew 2 men left for dead after being attacked, 2 different occasions.
@JohnStilettoSuggestion: When you give the estimates of monthly expenses, please clarify if your estimate is for one person or a couple. Thanks for so much information and great videos.
@zhongpu1256informative!
