In 2025 alone, Israel's far-right cabinet expelled 40,000 people from the West Bank. Jewish settlers, with the support of the IDF, destroy Palestinian property, attack people, and kill them. This is even happening more aggressively in 2026. That 70,000 people, including thousands of children, have been bombed in Gaza so far (and the number is increasing daily), along with virtually all infrastructure (schools, hospitals)—that is genocide! And the German politician who left the room knows all this, of course! Perhaps he was ashamed..
@peterundo8380You come to Germany, are allowed to freely exhibit your art, even receive an award...all of which is primarily financed by the German state...and then you criticize it as thanks for all of that!

Why do you have selective amnesia when it comes to political issues and potential crimes against humanity by the USA and Israel? Is it not effectively whitewashing their crimes?
Are'nt you supposed to be 'most political of all major film festivals'?
And how bad is it that when a journalist asked a question about solidarity with Palestine, you have people who heckle them with 'ask about Hamas' and 'what happened in Gaza didn't fall from the sky' , trivialising the suffering of the innocent civilians there. On what basis of human decency are they allowed to be there?
It does appear that what Trotsky wrote about the German bourgeois in 1933 still holds true: 'Not every exasperated petty bourgeois could have become Hitler, but a particle of Hitler is lodged in every exasperated petty bourgeois.'
Diese glorreiche Preisverleihung hätte im öffetnlich-rechtlichen Fernsehen übertragen werden MÜSSEN. Sie, die verantwortlichen Entscheider hatten man wieder die Hosen zu voll um ihren gesetzlichen Auftrag, für den sie auch noch fürstlich bezahlt werdenm, wahr zu nehmen. Weil sie genau wussten, dass es politische Statements zu Palästina geben würden, haben sie diese wunderbare Veranstaltung auf youTube ausgelagert. Shame on You!!!

2:16:23 Just after the Palestinian director left after calling out the Genocide someone shouts "Free Palestine from Hamas". These Germans just can't help it. They frame every line or piece of cloth in solidarity to Palestine as a call for the obliteration of Israel. But that sentence that has been central for the last 28 months and still is to justify an actual genocide is ofc fine.
