It is a very good döner, but the queue itself is more of an attraction than the food. People queue there because people queue there.

Wish I’d seen this before going up the tv tower yesterday and it was €29 not €25….but what’s with the weird pronunciation of a “Doner Kebab” we brits usually say it like Donna ? I thought a Dooner was the Aussie way of saying Duvet ? 😂

its quite mean to diss some modest people running their Döner shops near the touristic places. think of their income please....(and no hungry soul is going to die just because they did not eat your recommended Döner).

I went to Berlin last year, but it was an intensive two-day trip. I took the night train from Budapest and arrived the next day. I had about 36 hours to stay there. I stayed in a hotel for one night, and then I took the night train back to Budapest. Checkpoint Charlie is still a MUST. This was the gateway to liberty. I also have been to the DDR Museum. I was surprised that in those times, the GDR was so fond of Omega, a Hungarian band. It was touching for me, as a Hungarian. If you want to see how the Stasi was surveilling, give a visit to the Stasi Museum.

The trick is to skip Berlin altogether. It's a dump. There are much better cities in Germany, such as Munich, Hamburg, ... let alone small city gems in the south.

Okay, my No-Go in Berlin : 1.Alexander Platz, boring. 2. Kottbusser Tor, if you don't want to be asked if you like Drugs. 3. Never ever take the "Underground" called U-Bahn if you don't want to hear very , very sad, sad Storys for Tips. 4. Gedaechnis -Kirche : every step another Punk ask for money. 5. Mind your walk throu Town : Dogs shit everywere and the owner never remove it. 6. Attention when talking to Berliner: extremly inpolite, loud and full of hate against US-Tourist. Best advice : Take always a Taxi, Shop in Warehouses and eat in Restaurants - forget" Imbiss" ( Currywurst and Döner ) food -to -go, if you want to stay healthy. I lived there for 3 years and it was a pain in the ass. Amen

@andrewwillett9368I've been going to Berlin for a few years now and stay at Park-Inn. Alexanderplatz is a great starting point. You can easy get to anywhere i Berlin from here. As a tourist attraction, not so much.
@tbarmoThe museum island is a must stop! The Pergamon museum is closed until 2027 but there are others.

@stefanpaege2046Love Hannah's presentations! Berlin is such a great and diverse city (in so many ways)! My first visit in June 1989 was a little different than my last trip with my daughter in 2024 🤣😂🤣 I'm looking forward to visiting again when the Pergamon Museum fully reopens next year!
@ChuckEdgeBetter yet, avoid Berlin entirely. It's become so filthy and its residents don't seem to care about their hygiene or their city's cleanliness.
@h.b.7104Good summary of the highlights and lowlights. Though I do agree with the previous comment about Checkpoint Charlie as it has major historical significance, despite its current placement next to a McDonald's etc. As for the American 'trash' fast food places, this state of affairs is worldwide. I don't get why people in France would go to a Starbucks or people in Peru go to KFC. The other general comment is that Berlin has so many interesting venues to visit, so add a day or two for one's customized list. Among others, I enjoyed the museum with a large collection of Paul Klee works and the museum of the bauhaus. Others will have their own list of course. Oh the other thing is a walk down the Kurfürstendamm, as it was the 'it' street during West Berlin times, in stark contrast to East Berlin.

@ConsrignrantBeen to Berlin recently. Skipped Checkpoint Charlie anyway. Better perhaps to go to "Palast der Tränen" at Bahnhof Friedrichstraße, which was, in fact, more used as a point of entry to East Berlin back in the day. Agree about Alexanderplatz, which we only walked by to watch the world clock (has seen clearly better times), and then head on to Fernsehturm and Rotes Rathaus. We were lucky that Rotes Rathaus had Open House Day and we visited the marvellous rooms for free.

@lockedhimupI would also suggest that a must-see is the Soviet War Memorial in Treptower Park. You don't have to be a fan of Stalin to appreciate its magnificence.

@gabrielmihalache3530A decent video overall, but Hannah I do disagree with your disrespectful dismissal of Checkpoint Charlie as unworthy of visiting. My dad was stationed, thanks to the U.S. Army, in the then West Berlin in the early 1960s when the Berlin Wall was being constructed. It was a scary and tense time in the Cold War, and the city and western soldiers were surrounded by much larger communist forces. Sure, the modern fast food joints around Checkpoint Charlie don’t contribute to a historic atmosphere, but not everything should be judged based on an ephemeral vibe. It's more important to remember the service and sacrifices of those who came before us, especially when they fought for the freedoms we enjoy today.

@vjackiwGreat tips. I've eaten dönner in Mustafa's, it was simply amazing! Another recommendation is the Museum Karlhorst, a great historical building in Berlin. Dankeschön, Hannah!
