Hi, Is your surname polish by any chance?
00:00β Introduction
01:11 What is a Slugline?
Just started a writing class in LA and had no idea how to format a script until now, thanks
01:25 Sluglines: INT. and EXT.
02:11 Sluglines: Setting
I love the action lines too. The difference between a script and a novel is that on a script i can project the exact image i have in my head. every little detail. in a book i need to leave some room for imagination.
02:35 Sluglines: Time
02:48 Creative Exceptions to Slugline "Rules"
Hi! A fun video content idea, is to do a screenplay writing vlog! There is not enough screenplay writing content vlogs on YouTube!
03:41 Actions Lines in Scripts
05:04 Dialogue in Scripts
Hi there i don't know if you reapond to comments on older videos or not but I was wondering if you could help me out for a moment of your time if you have it. I started writing a script for a movie a plan on making and I've only had criticism from my freinds and family when I showed it to them and they all said it was pretty good and I figured I'd reach out and ask for some professional criticism and if you would like to could you give it a read and see if it is good on a professional level thank you and may God bless you

Just an 18 year old out of high school with no prior knowledge. I have an eight page script on a short film all free-balled. My format was based off of Obsession (2026). Iβm going to use this video to help correcting the format for my independent film. Thank you so much Ms.!
@Kody_HallidayPlease explain action line vs parenthetical
@motaungleballo5569Thank you so much. it's easy to understand. I enjoy to watch this video.

@grwemilyThank you so much for this !
@DiamondVisualDiaryyour too enthusiastic and i hate it
@lusx2k141This is really awesome
My favourite element of script writing is the parenthericals ,bcos the action line and the dialogue won't make any sense if the character doesn't understand what they are saying; just like the coffee shop imstance in the tutorial
Thanks so much , this will really be helpful
C'mon , let's get it started π
ππππAll hail slug line ππππ

@TecchToniccAwesome! Thanks for the break down...any suggestions for a screenplay book adaptation?
@anthonysanthonys1682Hey where u were few months ago π
@vegamine1418Shouldn't off screen be perhaps off stage instead? Just saying its a misnomer not that you are wrong. Thanks for the video! β€οΈ
@ruturajzadbuke9646these my notes
Slugline - establishes setting EXAMPLE: INT. HOUSE MAIN DOOR - DAY always at the start of a new scene
(Int. ) - inside scene
(Ext. ) - outside scene
(Setting - ) - setting like a place
(Time) - day, night, later, moments later, continuous
Exceptions- example space no need to put time
Characters - when introducing new characters provide characteristics and capitalize name ex: DANIEL (30βs)
Important props - all caps
sounds - all caps
People - when new dialogue put name in full caps that who is talking and put o.s v.o or o.c right next to it in the format: (V.O.) (O.S.) (O.C.)
(V.O .) - voice over
(O.S.) - off screen talking but not in the same room or space
(O.C.) - off camera in the same room and can have the camera pan to the person and can be really useful for reveals
Parentheticals - directions for actors speaking put below name in the dialouge in brackets example (Happily) or change in thought (beat) or a reaction (sigh)
(Re: [ABC]) - what actor is talking about example (Re: tea) why is it so cold?
Transitions - like what kind of transition example: MATCH CUT TO: goes on bottom left corner of scene
i like the explanation and looking forward to see more
