This is very sad. Miss Franklin has only a fraction of her instrument left. So raspy and pinched. I love her but after about 1980 the voice was spent. In the early 90s after she quit smoking she got back SOME of her upper register but def not all.

It's so uncanny such accomplished pianists, like Aretha and Nat King Cole, had such astonishing vocal chops to shut the effing piano 🎹 up and put in it's place. I can't believe I was barely 7 years old when I saw this presentation. My cousin Jesus wept. You know that's BS, Jesus is real. My cousin Chuchú. But he wasn't there. So when I am missing one of those goose bumps and your neck like a cat defending her turf. Here's my aspirin. I like today's music but some things never get old.

Some reason seeing her keep track of the song by mouthing the lyrics in parts shes not singing absolutely capitvated me. Same with her eyes, the cameraman did their job.
