Are Europeans Afraid To Travel to the U.S.? I Asked Them

Long before I was afraid to go to the US I was UNWILLING to go to the US. It has been a pariah for 10 years IMO.

No more travelling to the usa and no more buying usa products.

This is not a boycott anymore, it's a permanent change.

short awnser YES but not out of fear it's just out of sheer contempt on the US of it's behavior even since the end of world war 2 towards europe . first bleeding europe from it's financial resources during the war and after the war continued to this day never treating europe as equals or partners let alone as friends . beside visiting the US is like trying russian roullette you know you go in upright but have 90 percent chance of leaving it in a body bag or coffin the US isn't worth the squeeze and any european going to the US needs a proffesional mental check up .

Why Europeans don't go to the US: gun violence, blatant and widespread crime in public spaces, thousands of homeless people and heavy addicts on the streets, the arbitrary admission policy for decent people while illegal immigrants walk into the US without problems, the culture of the population that we oppose, there is so much to mention.
It's not fear, it's more a form of disgust.

I'm a Canadian who had been to the US back when all you need was ID ( driver's license ). Now, you need a passport, and the Canadian government has issued a level 2 travel advisory due to increased border security and the examination of electronic devices.

We live in a beautiful country that isn't overrun by illigals thanks to trump. The media makes it seem so much worse than it is. From what i see of Europe it's overrun by middle eastern people and the cities smell terrible and are littered with trash and pickpockets. Again the Media portrays each country as terrible. I live in a modest home with a panoramic view of the Mountains stretching 12,000 FT at the peaks. Clean City, low crime, my neighbors have horses and the town settles after 10pm. It doesn't bother us that foreign people aren't visiting, we enjoy our peaceful existence and couldn't care less what others think about us. I can go snowboarding one day and drive a few hours to go surfing the next. I love my country and it's endless expanse of beauty and individuality. The media portrays endless crowds of bitter gloomy people in Europe and that sounds depressing.

Some of these comments are overreacting. Yes, the US has been much less lenient for people entering, but they certainly do not track European’s social media. Remember that the 6 Germans who got deported are still a tiny fraction of a percent of the thousands who visited.

Simple fear, random travelers are being turned away at the airport. The fastest flight is 9 hours, just to have to take another 9 hour flight back. loss of 18 hours of your life just because an ICE/CBP agent doesn't like you, or something they found by scanning your phone upon arrival. It's an economic decision first.
Further fear, being incarcerated with no way to contact friends, family, lawyers, or consulate. CBP/ICE agents believing only US citizens have rights, when in all legal precedent anyone on American soil is subject to the rules/rights outlined by the constitution, federal, state, and local law.

I´m not afraid of visiting the US. I just don´t want to go there. I wouldn´t know who to talk to, considering that about 40 % of the US americans proved themselves to be poorly educated, xenophobic, mysogonistic racists.
