I've always liked boxer dogs. They have one of the most expressive faces so you can almost tell what they are thinking. Having short hair is a bonus for me too, we had a golden retriever which was also a lovely natured dog, but the amount of hair it sheds would put me off having another... Another breed I would fancy is the African Ridgeback, but probably harder to train and live with than a boxer. Good video, it's got me thinking about another dog when I retire.

I been lucky enough to have boxer dogs my hole life. I am 68 years old and my boxers have save my life and my family from intruders and attacks out in the world My parents had them as guard dogs too. They are my best and most LOYAL FRIENDS. If only they could live longer. This world 🌍 should invest more money 💰 in resources to help boxers to live longer instead of war. Losing a BOXER is like losing a child.

WILLS BEST SELLING PUPPY BOOK:

Every breed nowadays has problem with guarding instinct and generally working abilities because of the show lines, boxers are not something different, they are alert dogs and not real guardians, if you put them pressure they will flight, if you choose working line kennel then you can have a decent boxer with good temperament, but it is not usual for a kennel to breed for temperament, so don't full yourself...

life long boxer owner and forever boxer fan. I will say if you intend to get a boxer for guard duty primarily, go with a male german line. We have had both amercian lines and german, male and female and the german line males are larger and tend to have a very strong guard instinct. Ours was 83lbs of pure muscle and would march the back yard guarding with no training. He would put himself between us and a stranger. Glorious dog and I still miss him to this day. My current male is 73lbs and american boxer. He is also a good guard dog. Not quite as fierce as my gernan and not quite as large but such a loving boxer. he is in my recliner sleeping with his head on my leg as I type this. Boxers are such awesome dogs. You treat the well and they will reward you with years of fun and laughs and love. You do have to accept the first year they will be a bit crazy as they mature slower than other dogs but trust me, it is worth it.

I have a boxer myself. We went to a dog school and he is very well trained . He is super friendly, but if he sees a threat, you better run for your money. . I did not train him as a guard dog though.
. I was jumped by 4 aggressive drunk guys and he riped one guy's calf off and went straight for another dude that tried to punch me. They are super sweet and goofy dogs and they can be super protective at the same time.

Boxers are not great guard dogs in their currurt breed for the most part. They dont have many teeth left. If they are bred as a guard dog they can be quite effective otherwise they will more then likely show an intruder around the house. I love boxers.

A while back I, being a small grey haired senior citizen, was walking in the park with my 94 lb Boxer dog when a large, young, prison tattooed man was suddenly in my face threatening me for no particular reason other than that I was there. He said if I did not have the dog with me he would F me up, etc. I ignored him because he and I both knew my boxer would have killed him had he swung at me. Boxer are the best natural guard dogs on the planet and even a drugged out career street criminal will be deterred simply by the Boxer Dog's appearance. Should a madman press their luck with the animal the person will be killed by the Boxer. Their is no debate about that.

My terrier was attacked by a pitbull. He’s in the hospital at the moment awaiting jaw reconstruction since his jaw was left hanging from cheek skin. Our boxer was outside with him while the attack happened. The pitbull focused on my terrier 😢 but the boxer definitely defended him against the pitbull. Super friendly personality, she did a fantastic job fighting back. If my little buddy survives this attack I’ll forever be greatfull for my boxer. She potentially saved his life.

I can’t stress enough how friendly she is. Super active, all booty shaking and the best companion to have. But when push comes to shove she did not back down from the fight.

This boxer has showed me that she deserves the world.

(My maltipoo did a good job barking)

As an owner of a Boxer, I will say having a boxer as a guard dogs like bluffing in poker. They look aggressive but are in reality the sweetest thing in the dog world.

This video is STUPID🤢 Ihad a boxer dog and she was the GREATEST attack dog. When a stranger was around she went CRAZY and when strange and large dogs got too close she attacked them with MORE ferocity than any pit bull😎🙂 You guys are CLUELESS.

I once had a loud argument with a roommate. I found my Boxer hiding in the closet. 😂 But she and my other 2 boxers have been fabulous guard dogs.

Boxer absolutely do not make good guard dogs. They are easily swayed, they do not have the weight or power behind them and could easily be injured by an intruder. Yes they will patrol and alert like ANY dog but there are MANY other breeds that will be better suited for a guard dog position. Promoting this dog as a guard dog is a great way to put these dogs in shelters because the owners will realize they are not what you portrayed and is already an issue. Please do not buy a boxer to be your “guard dog” as the #1 reason, they are loyal family pets better suited for companionship and are very emotional dogs. Will it protect you if you are attacked? Maybe,

TAKE A FENRIR QUIZ:

https://fenrircanineleaders.com/pages/fenrir-quizzes

I’ve had five boxers over the years. As a woman, I was able to go anywhere and not worry. They’re wonderful with children, kind hearted with people, but they don’t back down and just the look of them is intimidating. They’re wonderful dogs but they don’t live long enough and to lose them is just brutal.

Will,

I suggest that you do not interrupt videos made by your employees.
Give them their space.
Trust them to do their work on their own.

If you do a video your self, then you should ofcourse be on show.
When one of your people do a video, then stay out of it. Give them their space.

I have noticed that you thypichally burst in and often take over a video started by one of your people.
I find this verry irritating and to be verry bad form by you.
This make me perceive you as overly dominant, and oppressive, of your people.

As I appreciate the actual content of facts and advice in the Fenrir show I ask you to view this as konstructive criticism.

Good video, i had once a boxer but he died from old age. I still miss him but not his stinky farts.

My rescue Boxer is afraid of strangers due to an unfortunate life before me. I don't think she would protect me. But strangers don't know that. And she looks like she could. So, I think people with bad intentions will stay away. And she will probably keep feeling more confident over time.

A friend of mine had 2 boxers back in the eighties. One was old but the younger one was solid muscle and loved nothing more than a good game of tug.

It really depends on how you keep your dog, if you let the dog sleep in your bed , lick your face every day. You make the dog too soft. That's why you see videos of houses being burgled and the house dog just wags it's tale. The burglers take the dog with them. Or women get raped n dog does nothing regardless if its boxer or German shepherd. The biggest issue is the show ring ,there's not many working line breeds left.

As a dog trainer for 6.5 years and currently own a 35kg male I can easily say YES they can be one of the best guard dogs ever if you put in the work but in all honesty it truly depends on their natural instinct as a lot of boxers tend to be skittish

Family owned a boxer mixed red nose hound growing up. Great guard dog. If you even look him in the eye for too long, that’s a death sentence. Used to think all dogs were like that till I grew up. But he was still sweet and loyal. Tendency to always break free, even break windows when he was younger but that might be the hound in him. All because he was too caught up with his surroundings. Anything that walks by would get a reaction. We were in the city than so he did his job right and we loved him very much.

Boxers are very protective, easy to train they like to copy you and they are very observant. When ever someone came over I would just say to my dog, say hi, now if I dont say that he will continue to hold his ground and bark at them then as soon as I say " say hi" hes friendly and happy. I do know for a fact he will attack anyone who tries to hurt me. When we are out at cafes he insists on sitting between my legs and watches everyone and is hyper alert. I didnt train him to do that.
They are super easy to train though. Took me about 10 mins to teach him hes not allowed past open gates. Probably 20 mins to leave the hens alone, 5 mins to chase off peacocks. This week he has decided that sitting on my chest is a great way to wake me up in the mornings Then he walks about 10 paces looks back to see if im getting out of bed with that look of you better be getting up. Tomorrow I might sit on his chest and see how he likes it.

I had a Marbleton line Boxer in the 80/90s weighed over 100lbs and he was an instinctive guardian. They way he would position himself to always be between any possible threat and react to anything to intimidate it. There were also the cues that he noticed anything out of place or new. I think his presence alone deterred most threats and he could judge character and intent very well. Boxers imho are up there with the Bullmastiff as one of the best family guard dogs that are easy to live with.

@anonymouscyclist1233

I didn't think my boxer would be a good guard dog until an event happened when I needed a guard dog for real, in that instance she was outstanding, not only did she out threaten the threat, but also disabled the guy who tried to attack me without doing damage, a measured attack stopping short of major injury, you can trust them, even the sweet playful ones like mine.

Nice video. As a constructive criticism, please take a little more care with editing, a few comments got repeated during the video. I own a female boxer and I'm never really sure if she would make a good guard dog. She strong and confident but also just seems to want to play with anyone and everyone!
