We don’t see Ceballos being regularly brought on every week as the right choice. In today’s match, after he was substituted in, the mistakes made led to a goal against the team. In some matches, taking risks is necessary; however, in such critical moments, bringing Ceballos on did not provide—and would not provide—the offensive effectiveness we needed.

Arda Güler’s passing, game management, and shot attempts required him to stay on the field for the full 90 minutes. In this context, substituting Ceballos, along with taking Arda Güler and Valverde off, were decisions that negatively affected the balance of the match. The 2–3 critical mistakes made shortly after Ceballos entered show that he is not at the level expected of a Real Madrid player. Therefore, the coaching staff should shape the game plan more carefully.

Furthermore, it is noticeable that Vinicius and Mbappé lose an incredible number of balls over 90 minutes. This is no longer normal and indicates a selfish style of play. They act not as team players but as individual players, which massively disrupts the coordination and efficiency of the offense. With this style of play, it is impossible to win games or achieve long-term success, such as the Champions League.

To clarify the adjustments: Asensio should have been substituted, and the team should have switched to a three-man defense, while Camavinga should have been taken off.

From a match management perspective, some changes could have been more effective. First, Camavinga should have been substituted, and Carreras should have been pushed forward immediately. Mendy should have been preferred at left-back. Valverde and Arda Güler should have remained on the field. Later, Carvajal could have been replaced by Trent Alexander-Arnold. Asensio should have been taken off, and the team should have switched to a three-man defense. In the final 5–8 minutes, Garcia could have been brought on to help maintain the team’s balance.
