I prefer the figure 8 power connector of the apple and the unbranded buttons of the apple, but prefer the normal batteries of the Google.

I actually like the google tv becuase of the google photos screensaver algorithm , it shows all photos from all trips shuffled it makes that better , also chromecast is a thing i need to show trip photos to my family

Google streamer doesnt come with wifi 6. It has wifi 5. You made a mistake there

in my personal opinion where the Google TV wins is the fact that you can install apps like Stremio and save your hard earned cash on streaming services!

The Apple TV is clearly better. Ecosystem, and sideloading supports makes me still choose the Google TV streamer

For my usage pattern, Google TV streamer ecosystem any day ......gets a thumbs up.
Combining and intelligently stitching Google Assistant, Google Search, YouTube search and navigation, Google voice navigation & commands, Gemini pro integration, the entire Chromecast & Chrome browser ecosystem and the entire Android ecosystem all linked to a single GoogleOne account .
I stream a lot of unofficial media from various websites and free media platforms and seamlessly casting all of that is a priority ... easy via Chrome browser sessions and tabs . Native Chromecast is NOT supported by Apple TV .
Apple TV just can not match this entire ecosystem . I have a 500 Mbps WiFi and Google Streamer's WiFi5 is more than sufficient to stream 4K60 with Dolby Vision and HDR10+. Apple TV is OK IF you do NOT stream from non OTT platforms and unoffical websites and cast free media content. I think 10 OTTs is too limited content for me. I access tonnes of 3rd party streaming websites and cast stuff agesssively .....and when it comes to YouTube Premium search, lookup, recommendations, contextual management, automation, playlists etc the Google TV streamer 4K is the BEST .

I guess LG, Samsung, and other brands use their TV CPU for optimising colour and picture quality, and it shoud be we should use an external device for streaming content and leave the TV processor for doing the TV engine stuff

@vidgetgamingI switched from the og nvidia shield tv to an apple tv 4k four years ago, and the Apple TV experience is so much better than Android/Google TV. I had to turn off the touch controls pretty fast though as it made navigating worse and would always trigger with the slightest touch.
You can get same screensavers on the Google TV as what Apple TV has. It's called "Aerial Views screensaver".
I ditched Apple TV, Google TV is much better.
@r107560slOn the Google tv you can turn off the mode with the ads and switch to a simple mode just like the Apple TV.
@tesfayebabaBelgian here. We can install apps from Belgian (I tested a Portuguese one too) channels and just watch it without any problem
@standardsergioThe ads on Google TV need to go. Apple TV has already shown how to do a no ad interface.
@MurseTech64LG's software is horrendous, I have a TCL and Hisense TV and they're both on Android TV, both are smoother to navigate, offer better options and a better app library... I had to spend to get real smart features because LG's software is so bad (but I have an LG OLED, so I had to do something to fix it).
Samsung is probably not that bad.
Anyway, the OS situation should be much more highlighted in reviews.
talking too fast doesn't help you to keep people watching video.
@MrJafarI like both in their own ways. However, on Apple TV You can close all the apps easily like you make on your phone. On Google TV it's too complicated..

In my opinion Apple TV just has more things i dont care about but im not sure if its better or just have more options i won´t use. What should i do?

@notaname6598Apple TV 4K is so overrated it's ridiculous. I've had one for a couple years and I absolutely hate it. The remote control is garbage. Their bugs in the software of the Apple refuses to fix like a double skip when navigating. It's slower than an old Chromecast. The requirement to be in the Apple ecosystem is a trap of mediocrity. At least Google OS has a browser, a better remote control and you can change the launcher to projectivy.

I will never invest in Google's ecosystem ever again after they absolutely f**ked over Nest, not to mention the countless of apps I started using only to have them cancelled a year later.
@darkwoodmoviesLol now I just need an android user to review the Google TV as there are options even on the Chromecast units that are on the new on you never mentioned. Like Google TV you can use your phone as a remote aswell. And to type.
@jadin558Google side has Nvidia Shield and many more products that do the same thing. I personally use the Nvidia Shield.
But the most important thing is that you can install and setup an android device to stream all the expensive services for free! You can watch everything without ads. There is no comparison for users that know how to benefit these devices. Apple TV is for the old lady that has no problem to have multiple subscriptions...
As much as i love Apple Tv smooth working, the heavily restricted app store and 3rd party support stops me from buying it

@jeremsgarageFor me one MASSIVE benefit of Google Tv is that you can sideload alternative YouTube player.
not because of ads, but because YouTube refuses to listen and FORCES you to watch content with subtitles if your user interface and content languages don't match.
For example if i were to open this video on Apple tv and my hypothetical Apple tv was set onto Finnish, then this video would start with subtitles made in English and then poorly translated to Finnish.
i would then have to click on that cc button on this video to watch it, only to have to repeat that on each and every video going forward.
same happens on all platforms with build in YouTube players, like gaming consoles or smart tv platforms.
then the final nail to the coffin for me, is that Apple purposely makes no effort to make the Apple tv to phone and back experience even 20% the same with android as it is on iOS.
and i can say 100% certainty that me and iOS mix as well together as oil and water.
and in my years of using Android/Google TV platform, i have not seen any ads in the homescreen either. though i do not count those watch recommendations even for services that i do not currently subscribe to.

In India, Apple TV 4K 3rd generation 128 GB costs just 30 dollars more, has a way more powerful Apple A15 bionic processor, 4 times fast Nvme storage, 2x2 Wifi 6 , super smooth UI and excellent software optimisation for A15 bionic.
Just paid £71.99 for the google tv on ebay used but like new worth it or not

you didnt cover integration into a home cinema setup. Ive heard apple tv doesnt support all sound formats? You havent covered how well app integration is on either product. Im led to believe that setting up the apple tv app on google is a nightmare. setting up the apple tv 4k with the free 3 months apple tv pass without an iphone is almost impossible... would love to hear other peoples experinces.
