The only advantages Spotify has is:
1. Audiobooks
2. Better sync and apps on multiple platforms. Spotify acts as a controller rather than just a player

Spotify for life. Apple is late

00:00 Apple Music vs. Spotify

I use both Spotify on iPhone 11 Pro and apple music on my iPhone 14 Plus Spotify let’s me add MORE songs than Apple Music

"Great comparison. The biggest issue with the music discovery tools on both platforms right now is that they aren't actually discovering new music for you anymore—they're just recycling your own listening history into different looking playlists (like Daylist or Daily Mixes).

I wanted a clean space to discover music strictly based on a specific headspace without corporate AI pushing sponsored tracks or data loops. Since it didn't exist, I built an indie project called Moodsonix to try and tackle pure, mood-based curation. For anyone watching this trying to figure out how to break out of the predictive algorithm loops on both apps, it might be exactly what you're looking for." [for get it just search moodsonix lovable

I just switched to apple after 12 years on Spotify. It’s not close. If you care about how the music sounds it’s apple by a mile.

11:58 Apple Music Sing

12:41 Spotify's Fan-Focused Features

Apple music UI is trash compared to every other streaming service. AM shuffle is broken, music discovery is trash, cross platform compatibly is trash, HiFi listening is only possible if you have the gear which 99% of users do not as they listen in the car or Bluetooth headphones. Spotify does all of this better, hands down! YTM and Tidal does all this better too. AM is trash in comparison. Don't believe me, use all of them and you'll see.

More User Perspectives

if I cared about sound quality, I would might as well get Tidal. I use Spotify because the music discovery is orchestrated very well.

@pumpkinman1642
@

Why is it harder to build your own playlist on Apple Music. I keep adding songs and when I go back to check is empty 🙄

@sam352
@

I wish Apple Music has graphic EQ like Spotify. Or better yet parametric EQ. I use my old Android phone for just for music (like an iPod lol) because you can have Poweramp Equalizer there. With proper headphones, it's night and day.

AI ass songs

Ok, Spotify has more tools to discover new songs, but it doesn’t mean the recommended songs are good. I find myself stuck in the same genres for awhile now on Spotify. At the same time, I have been trying Apple Music for some days now and I have already discovered tons of new songs I like that Spotify never mentioned the existence. For example, Protoje is an artist I truly enjoy, but who is not that popular and one that I don’t listen to on a daily basis. Spotify ignored his existence, while Apple Music showed me his new releases instantly. That was a shocking difference for me. I think Spotify’s algorithm is focused on recommending songs that are popular and songs that you already listen to, because that’s all I see there.

I literally got spotify advertisement before getting to this video

If it is a family or duo apple is better i know apple does not have duo but apples family is Spotifys duo price wise and extra 4 members means just split bill with extra friend!

Apple music is best hands down

Apple Music sounds much fuller idk how to explain even at high aac

@GSB9981

Apple Music but Spotify has the audio books.

@wanmorgan

I switched to AM on the moral principle that Joe Rogan is a piece of shit

@FuzzyManBella
@

Personally, Apple Music’s Automix feature is fantastic, but Autoplay is a hot mess and can’t stay on topic. If you tell Spotify to play an artist, it’ll play that artist. AM might play a song or two from that artist before going off on a tangent.

Spotify ALL THE WAY

@wakeno.6047

i switched to apple music a few months back, and i was shocked at how much better the sound quality is (i'm pretty sure my headphones don't support lossless(???) but it def sounds so much better). i really miss the discovery features that spotify had, because apple's algorithm is terrible. i haven't listened to a country music song since 2020 (when i first used apple music for a few months), yet every. single. curated playlist is FILLED with country. i haven't listened to country in SIX years. why can apple not let this go?

@letmeloveu143
@

as an artist, Spotify pays nothing compared to just about any other streaming service. they also are propagating their own AI music content and pushing them as actual artists, thus paying only themselves. i have used them for years because of the convenience of finding music and sharing playlists for work and referencing but just about to pull the plug on them. they are considered the epitome of evil to most content creators

@ethorguy
@

How much did the Swedish Government and Spotify pay you??
Apple Music is better than spotify by a few lightyears and everybody knows that Apple Music is WAYY fucking cheaper,have WAYY better sound Quality and WAYY more easier to discover new music end of story.

@BoynamedMagnus183
@

Bottom line:
Spotify is a big winner for 2 things: App + Compatibility.
For best quality is Qobuz however, the app is very bad.
Apple Music is terrible on Windows or Android.

@apicard27

Tune My Music robbed me it didn't work

@georgekassimis4665

I second your take on AM stations. Their algorithm, especially for stations, stinks tbh, that's the only real issue (not nit pick at least) I found, and that's a deal breaker for people I know

@bosyogurtlight
@

AI mentioned as a good thing? Points invalid.

@TheChirozachtor
@

I just use Tidal with a Colombian account. €2.5 a month to have Dolby Atmos and high quality files available, along with all the alternative versions of the albums I love which aren't on Spotify or Apple Music, all without the annoying algorithm (unless I specifically go into the algorithm driven section which suggests things much better than Apple Music ever did for me) and I'm more than happy

@PocketUau
@

I choose apple because you basically have a limitless downloads and you can have substantially more songs in your playlist

With Apple music, the output device has to support Dolby Atmos, even if the Audio receiver supports surround sound, it the device doesn't support Dolby Atmos, you won't be able to listen in that format. For context, I have the OnePlus 15, and it doesn't have Dolby Atmos.

@miguelmoran764

When you describe the things Spotify does on paper, all seem to be great. In practice, the DJ works by playing the same songs you listen to over and over. The playlists play safe songs you have liked and anything that sounds similar. At least with Apple, they put more effort into curation and getting you to explore a bit more, even getting you to listen to songs from the past you haven't discovered yourself. As a long time Spotify user, it all gets very samey

@chaosmilkshake
@

Things you missed: Apple Music playlists are made by humans, while Spotify is based on algorithms (which like to promote AI slop). Apple Music also includes 'Classical', a dedicated app for Classical music, if you're into that. Spotify pays artists the least out of all streaming services, while Apple Music is 3rd highest, below Tidal and Quobuz.

@ItsaB3AR
@

Hii hope u are doing good can you please make a new video because apple comes with new features in there new beta developer update make a new video my friend 😉

@abhaygill8319
@

Apple music imports your playlists directly from Spotify.. no need to go via a thirdpary platform or app...(for a one off sync/ move i guess)

@RikKorvemaker
@

I disagree about discovery. I believe Apple Music is better. Spotify keeps you in your own inescapable algorithmic loop.

@mok999

10% of the way through the video an already an ad-read. Nice..

@EnsoCruz

Both are waste of money. I buy my music on itunes, streaming is a waste of money

@Dungkoy124

dont use this usless ad when u can transfer your music from spotify to apple music with apples own service google it its very easy

@g99_b8

Spotify has a free mode so why not just use its free mode and apple if you want to pay for one.

@dawnsautner6044
@

The fact that you said “it has never been this close” means you advocating for spotify. Everybody knows Apple Music audio quality is way better than Spotify, specifically if you’re within the apple ecosystem.

@molinj5
@

I tried Apple Music but the App is horrible also on different plattforms. But thats just for UI the sound seemd a bit more clean on Apple music with hi res compared to hifi on spotify but its so small and unnoticable
