This is a disaster. What’s the point of having a powerful model if it’s constantly blocked by security restrictions? It often starts answering a question and then suddenly refuses to continue. The same thing happened with Opus 4.7, and now it feels like they’re going even further in that direction. If a model can’t be properly tested on complex tasks because it keeps blocking itself, its capabilities become much less useful.

It is finally a Claude again. Warm and curious without the paranoia. A really lovely model. I hope it stays that way. I can live with being kicked by a safeguard now and then. I can always rewind the offending prompt. But Fable's Claudness is not buried under questioning anything and itself constantly. Poor 4.8.
