my dad never once in his life said 'I love you' to me, but I loved him dearly till he passed (17 years ago) and still do. That's the problem with old school parents, they didn't say it so we didn't feel it. I tell my kids every time I speak to them, I love you. You never know when its the last time you say it.

Makes me sad even 7 years after my divorce .I tried so hard to stop it from happening. My daughters were very hurt by the family breaking up. I went as far as trying to talk my wife into not leaving. My girls mean everything to me . There's no more I love yous
My daughters haven't spoken to me in 5 years after being so close to them since they were babies and I never even got a reason for their silence .
