00:00 Introduction

It’s hard to grieve when you are fighting for your life. This man has been punished enough. This was beyond his control. He absolutely did not have anything to do with this. I hate that this case is cooking back up. Leave him alone already. Poor guy has suffered enough even if you don’t think you seen it.

07:20 Who Was Anni Hindocha?

Man that poor aunt. She probably has so much guilt even though it obviously isn’t her fault at ALL!

— @Wesjag03

09:10 Who Was Shrien Dewani?

14:05 Clue #1: Shrien’s Story

As a South African, I have watched many many documentaries on this topic, your documentary came up with new stuff for ex the yellow glove not being tested or that the results were not passed on - someone prob bribed someone not to release it, then Anni's cousin recording the conversation they had with the family, excellent point on hiring helicopter...I always thought the hotel normally could send a shuttle to airport for guestss but never thought of the fact that booking a helicopter ride via a stranger that is not a professional guide or concierge is so off... This case was really upsetting to us here, and he got away with it! If I remember correctly the male escourt unalived himself. Really sorry for her family. We often go to Strand where the driver took them to for supper. Everytime we take a walk along the promenade near the restaurant I think of her...

19:00 Clue #2: Anni’s Body

20:15 Clue #3: The Gun

His family has mad money and I truly believe that the judge in the case was bought! The evidence against him was insurmountable!

21:00 Botch #1: No Stolen Firearm Report

22:35 Clue #4: A Telling Fingerprint

The fact that he hired a random driver instead of using authorized taxis and drivers immediately was suspicious.

38:00 Clue #7: Secret Recording

45:50 Clue #8: Money Handoff

1:05:56 I don't know what to think anymore. Like he has no remorse or grief when she died. But also the judge made some good points

— @abbywas7163

54:10 Clue #9: Shrien’s Sexuality and Infidelity

01:02:35 Botch #4: Police Stopped Taking Notes

I feel like he was in on it and the way he was acting at the funeral arrangement was to keep them from seeing the fingerprint bruises on her thighs.

Hi Clues! It would be amazing if you could cover the case of Marielle Franco- she was a Black Brazilian politician out of Rio de Janeiro who was assassinated along with her driver, and there's still a lot of intrigue about who was involved with her murder and how far up the chain in the Brazilian government it goes...

ABOUT CLUES:

I went to South Africa during this time and it was clear that you would not have entered these areas at night there were gigantic signs across the highway/road lit up in lights reading and about the danger of going any further I can't imagine that this was not an intentional setup.

So I just finished this and I live in South-Afrika and I mean what? I think about is normally as far as I know if you were high jacked your can money and everything would be taken and like he offerd them money and they didn't take it? Yeah he definitely had somthing to do with her death and I hope she rests in peace and that her family gets the justice❤ they deserve

I'm so glad you guys covered this story. She used to work with my mother and I interned in their office a few summers. Anni was beautiful and very much liked by her colleagues, a few of them went to her wedding in India and were heartbroken when she passed.

=============================

I will say this is very conflicting case bc I can see both things be true, but I also can thing of few scenario's that could be in some way also true.
But I will say from begining this was weird. He(husband) was weird, his behavior didn't make sens.
Also honestly I don't undestand why she married him when from begining she wasn't sure, I get that make they started to get friendly and she thought maybe they would click more, but why not to wait, why not to say no, after wedding she was thinking if divorce so she wasn't sure going into wedding, why go true, where she seems quiet intepended educated, and didn't have real presure from family... Hmm and I'm not blaming her or something I simply wonder. Bc I understand that some women go with marriage after very long relationship and they feel like waste (this is of course only example) but they didn't even know each other that long... That is why I wonder...
Also the husband really give weird vibe like trying to hard but also controlling things.
The fact that he organized honeymoon without telling her anything and choose not safe place that she didn't have any interest in. Weird
Then this driver part , from begining it was werid.
Ehh
The we go to her funeral, he shown so much disrespect that I'm lost in words....

I wonder if he wanted to marry bc it is how it should be, but he really didn't want to be with women. I wonder if all the "ugly" comments were not bc of her look but bc she was women...

I was thinking if he did arrange robbery/kidnapping, but now fully hit on her but more like trauma situation so if the marriage would fall it would be bc of this of if they would have problems in marrige it would be bc of trauma... Hmm

Bc honestly killing part makes the least sens, why kill her if there was no need, if they would take their money and accessories and jewelry it would be sooo much money, you take it you throw they out of van and that's all you are "rich"...
Throwing him out and taking her without AS and then killing seens so weird.
Also the way shot was described for me wasn't really like hit, like planed thing.

It almost feels like he hired them to kill his wife but then he didn't pay up (for whatever reason) and things went bad from there and she still ended up dead.

@qfemale
@

In my opinion, the husband hired the driver to murder his wife and her jewelry was part of the payment. The driver got other people to help because why would you toss the husband out and not kill them both if it was a robbery? He's as guilty as sin!

As a south african myself and it sounds about right how the government and police force handles crimes. It's genuinely sad but it is really the truth about the police force in South Africa in general

@sillyphoenix297

This one is so messed up. He didn’t have to marry her in the first place! He definitely orchestrated the hit. Then to be so cruel to her body and family while preparing the body. He’s absolutely vile.

@christinecrespo2007

1:05:30 i lean towards shrien not having done it. i mean theres certainly things that make it look like he could have but theres just so much doubt. i think him having arranged it and it being a carjacking are equally likely, BUT the phonecall where monde gives instructions and is planning the thing with no mention of shrien makes me lean towards shrien being innocent. either way i think the right decision was made at his trial, since even if he was guilty there was just way too much doubt to convict him of murder.

@hattarapilvi

its so sad that either of them even felt such outward pressure to get married, her because of misogyny and him because of homophobia. ugh. can we just leave people alone? obviously whoever murdered her is the one at blame but if their culture weren't so ristrictive and obsessed with marriage, she would still be alive.

2:04 I think the issue is labs to test SO much DNA. I’ve heard there isn’t ass many labs and lab employees and hours in the day. Also something about the machines that test the DNA. The machines are what’s expensive and there is a limited number of machines BUT that’s just what I’ve heard and honestly I don’t recall exactly where I heard this maybe it was Derrick from crime weekly. I’m sure I spelled his last name wrong. Wanaannannnnnnn

It's so funny how subjective beauty is. I agree, Anni is beautiful. There's no question. But, ever since I found HSP and Clues, every so often i find myself mesmerized by how beautiful I find Kaelyn.

South africa doesn't do jury trials so no need to repeat to the judge in a courtroom what they are privy to from the documents.
