Season 3 is special because it happened during Covid and they had drive through shows in LA which really set up season 4 nicely

21:29 I feel like he would have got an actual reception if he didn’t ask to be killed off. My daughter asked me the other day if I thought they wrote Eddie into season 4 because Billy was gone. And I was like no that doesn’t make sense but then she was like think about it. They weren’t planning on killing him. He wanted to be killed so if their original plan was to keep him alive what would he have been doing in season four. She’s like he would be with Max and whatever she was doing, which is where Eddie is and I’m like the more she’s talking like you kind of makes sense. Because what would have Billy been doing in season four if the actor didn’t want to be killed off. Even if Eddie was always planned on being there I would have loved to see Billy deal with the basketball team because they’re all chasing down his sister and her friends he wouldn’t have let that happen especially not after what happened in season three if he somehow survived that.

19:38 season 3 is my 3rd favorite season. Just because there was a few things that actually drove me crazy the whole Dustin and his girlfriend thing well she wouldn’t just answer their question and made him sing, and people were dying. Drove me nuts. Also they were able to get the mind flayer out of will but 11 who we seen fight monsters, couldn’t keep Billy in the sauna. Little things like that when I’m trying to decide because I like four or three more is what pushes it down to third place

18:08 the difference between the characters being split up in season four and in season two is in season two they all had pieces of the puzzle that they needed to come together to figure out what was happening, but nobody talk to each other in season four their split up, but they’re still communicating. They’re still all trying to accomplish one thing, stop Vecna save Max that’s why I didn’t mind them being split up in season four but it drove me crazy in season two

16:01 season four probably had me the most emotional out of all of the seasons now that I think about it because they killed poor Chrissy, which let us know how the show was going to be that season then every episode basically Steve was like on the verge of death so stressing then what happens to Eddie and Max stressed crying for both of them poor Lucas in that scene when he’s like holding onto Max and crying broke me again the whole back half of that season I was a mess

11:09 this is not the same thing as Game of Thrones. These people came up with this idea. These people have been writing this show the entire time they just gave up. The writers of Game of Thrones, just in my opinion weren’t good writers when they had the source material the books they were basically just tweaking for a TV writing an amazing fan fiction for screen because I just had to copy and paste the plot the second the source material stopped. They had no idea what to do and even though the writer told them how we plan to wrap up the books so they had the outline they just had no idea how to get there because they couldn’t write it on their own. After the first season came out I bought the books. I’m like oh I wanna read this. I got about halfway through the first book and some of the even inner dialogue was exactly the same in the show so I stopped reading it cause I’m like I don’t want to read faster than a show. It was gonna come out and know how the show is gonna end not realizing at the time of the books weren’t finished.

5:07 I actually always say season two was one of like my top favorite seasons, but then when I was actually thinking about it compared to the other seasons, you’re right it’s not as good and then when you were talking about it, I just remembered them being split up, actually irritating me so much the fact that nobody talked to each other in this season until like the very end so apparently I don’t like it as much as I remember I need to go back and rewatch it.

Season 4 is the best. I don't know why everyone is obsessed with season 1. Season 5 was good besides the last episode. Worst episode ever season 5 episode 8.

We rewatched the entire series just to catch up on details. We have forgotten about my personal rankings from worst to first would be season 5, season 3, season 2 season 4 and season 1. When you do discuss the finale that was the problem. It was very underwhelming. There was that credit card commercial that shows Nancy taking a flamethrower to the monsters and she was in the same outfit that she was actually in the finale and I kept expecting some big final battle where they have to defeat all these monsters and sadly the credit card commercial had more action than the actual episode

On your rewatch season 2 WILL find a way in your top 3 especially if you look at it from a lore/universe perspective. Season 3's love/hate relationship started very recently when people rewatched the show and realized that its all nostalgia and pop culture but no substance. The Russians as main antagonist was much weaker than mind flayer or vecna, the overall plots have no connection to the bigger plots of the universe. Season 3 is aesthetically pleasing and fun but thats really it. Season 3 also made it become a parody of itself in a way with the 80s nostalgia especially with the russian storyline. Season 2 used to be considered the worst by most people but now everyone realizes its very underrated. Best horror elements with the same vibe and level of writing of season 1, yes eleven isnt with the group but the rest of the groups are together. Will and Mike's friendship is showcased best, The beginning of Jancy, the beginning of lumax. Eleven's greatest show of power minus season 5 is also in 2..she floats, eyes goes dark etc. I would also argue season 2 has some of the best music and the arcade as a setting was so dope. Season 2 > Season 3 all day.

#1: Season 4: One' introduction made this more interesting, but the final scene paled in comparison to 3.
32. Season 3 - Hopper's heroic death and letter is really how the series should have ended.
#3. Season 1: the only season where the kids looked like kids.
#4 Season 5. Too many side characters kinda spoiled the broth.
#5 Season 2: The really dull segue season

So as someone who is new to Strangers Things by choice, I just watched all the seasons for the first time over the last few weeks. Just finished season 5 like 30 minutes ago. My rankings are very similar to yours, except I have season 5 as the worst season of the bunch, then season 2, 4, 3, and 1. Season 3 was actually VERY good and most fun of them all. Season 5 was not Game of Thrones bad as a last season, but it was pretty terrible. Overall, it was a solid show. Not great, but solid. 3.5 out of 5 overall.

Honestly they're all great for me, but I really loved the third season stuff with scoops ahoy and the Soviet plot also the Mindflayer's flesh avatar idea was disgusting and gruesome in the best way. Aside from the top two spots the rest are nearly interchangeable for me depending on my mood and the overall series is probably an 8/10 for me.

Edit: I made this comment before really watching the video and was honestly surprised I had the same ranking as Cody. My opinions usually don't line up completely with Cody's, but I agree with nearly everything he said here

The coming out scene in season 5 was so cringe, way to long and annoying, shoukd have been like robins with steve thst was amazing (not hating on gays btw just thought it was poorly executed also in gay myself)

I would agree almost 100% with your list except I would swap 1 and 2. Like you did mention Season 3 is just fun. Love the Mall setting and the Carnival.

Me and my mother don't get into the same shows very often, so when a show is good enough for us to set together and binge every episode, but fails hard in the final season, sucks so epicly.
